Kampret
Shadows rendering issue is still present... It's intended. It's been there since GTA IV.
FilipCRO
The only thing they fixed regading the shadows, is that shadow pixelated square that always appeared when piloting a plane or a helicopter. At least something... If you guys want shadows that look good regardless of the shadow rendering issue, choose NVIDIA PCSS ! You cant even notice sometimes that shadows render in front of you... I'd much rather deal with the "shadow square" than sacrifice fps just to look at ugly shadows.

Maybe because you live in your mom`s basement and forgot how real-life shadows look like PCSS looks great IMO, only some shadows look blured (fence for example), but all other are realistic The FPS sacrifice isn`t that big either... Crimson Flam3s
It's about 10fps give or take on a 970.^ Btw, I have 2 installs of gta, one for sp/mods and one for vanilla game and online, and I would like to try the fix this issue, what is the mod mentioned here? Hell, I wouldn't even care if it gets rid of the box and all my shadows are permanently faded, that's how they look in real life, most of the time anyways, as long as I don't have that box following me around. gdfsgdfg
Shadows rendering issue is still present... It's intended. It's been there since GTA IV. No they are not, shadows in gta iv looked the same regardless what distance you were from them. This game only renders shadows in full quality near you its a bloody shame. PCSS seems to be the only option which doesn't make the low quality shadows noticeable and for those who say it looks bad you really need to look at some outside shadows because its almost 90% accurate. You should pay a little more attention. Shadows in IV got the exact same player proximity square thingy as V did, the only difference is the amount of shadows in IV and V. There's a sh*t ton more shadows in V than IV.

Crimson Flam3s
I played on the ps4 version yesterday and I noticed this issue is non existent, or if it is, it must be a huge box. Was this really on previous gen?

WrongAgainNoobs
try "alt+enter" a couple times - who does it help for OP bugs (look at OP!), and who does it not help? AMD or Nvidia if it works/doesn't work? Which generation? It will (alt+enter) take you out of fullscreen and put you back in - do it 2 times, each time (look for more bugs each time, which does it fix and do you experience added bugs? Repeat - what now? Let us know, community can solve why). Edited July 18, 2015 by WrongAgainNoobs
