After the patch release I opened GTA V and the splash pops up and then disappears and nothing happens.

I could play before the patch.

Any ideas?

Btw, im not using steam.

You can't turn NV PCSS with all shadows setting on normal. I think you need to have very high shadows setting to use NV PCSS.

I have all settings set to the highest possible, but I can't seem to have the option to turn on NV PCSS shadows thats weird, I had that option on before this patch...

Performance is the same for me (still can't push settings further or I get below 60fps in vinewood boulevard), also, the stuttering with v sync on hasn't been resolved yet.

Bitch Ass Bullshit

Performance is the same for me (still can't push settings further or I get below 60fps in vinewood boulevard), also, the stuttering with v sync on hasn't been resolved yet.

So you still have to toggle vsync to get 60 fps steady? Damn

People, dont get surprised by 350mb, it must just be some replacement rpf file, they must have done some tweaks inside and not an added 350mb to the game i believe.

I think there might be an issue with the grass...It seems that High/Very High are exactly the same, as I'm getting frame drops on High that I didn't get before.

I switched to Very High and the drops are identical...can someone else test this out as well?

I tested the same dense grass spots as always (my grass is on 'high') and my framerate is the same (with v sync off im ALMOST below 60fps, but not quite), as I said, performance seems exactly the same for me.

Well, it might address other things unrelated to performance (mission bugs, or online errors, whatever).

Hmm it's def worse for me with Vsync on - I used to get 60fps pretty easily, now low to mid 50's...

I only get like 5fps lower with 2xMSAA

First thing i noticed with this patch is FXAA works ALOT better, like night and day difference

Have you tried turning v sync off, going back to the game, and turning it on again as people have reported? I (and others) need to do this everytime when first starting the game to avoid fps drops in certain areas.

That's cool, Im gonna test this: I've been forced to use fxaa from nvidia's control panel since it seemed to do a MUCH better job eliminating the aliasing, maybe it won't be necessary anymore! :)

same as me gonna see if it works better when im coming home. plz report if FXAA is better ingame etc. and if u dont loose to much fps anymore on using 2MSAA with MFAA. if its 5 FPS then its totally worth it imo!

Already tested this: Im not entirely sure it's better (at least for me), nvidia's fxaa still looks better than in-game over here, much less jagged.

-edit- I don't use msaa, but my performance with in game fxaa, or nvidia's... it's all the same!

Downloading on Steam now, it's only 177mB on steam it seems.

Steam downloads are compressed, check the files once they are downloaded in GTAV folder: GTA5.exe (48,9MB) + GTAVLauncher.exe (18,3MB) + update.rpf (313MB) = 380,2MB in total ;)

Yeah it's not that...I have 2xMSAA + MFAA on and could maintain 60fps before the patch. With FXAA I have no issues at all (rock solid 60fps).

if u force FXAA from Nvidia CP are you turning it off from the game aswell?

and btw are you only forceing FXAA or do force antistropic filtering aswell?

I do both, fxaa an AF in Nvidia CP and I turn those off in game. You can combine both fxaa btw, but it looks too blurry! (and there is a slight performance decrease when doing this -tested it on some dense grass spots) but it's like 2, or 3 frames.

RussianFighter

Guys, since OpenIV can read files.

Have anyone done a file comparison between the old update.rpf vs the new one?

I sadly didn't backedup the old update.rpf.

Anyone else started experiencing annoying stuttering after the patch?

GG, Rockstar. :facedesk:

I see gonna try with FXAA from CP and see it its a diffrence! you cant upload screenshots with the diffrence? same with AF?
