Empty sessions even though my NAT is open

I had the cable guy come over and fix my sh*t and it worked for a day and then it went back to empty lobbies again. I have an open NAT with 0% packet loss so I don't understand why this sh*tty game isn't working.

 

This is for Xbox one btw. Port forwarding and all that other bullsh*t doesn't work

Is it really Open?

Run a multiplayer connection test. When it's finished, hold down RB, RT, LB and LT. Under detailed NAT info, what does it say?

Setting up your NAT won't help you if it's already a "cone NAT". That means it's Open. So, now you can start playing a game of deduction. How old is your router? Sometimes these issues can be completely router related, some of which may require you to replace it.

My router is pretty new, I replaced my older linksys router with a modem/router combo. It's a Ubee. I just don't understand. On my older linksys router it played gta online fairly well but sometimes it disconnected me often.

So wait, do you have a separate modem and router, or just a single modem with routing capabilities?

It's a ubee dvw326b, so I guess so that it's a modem with router capabilities.

Interesting, because sometimes people will have a double NAT, which is when you have a modem/router and then another router attempting to do the trafficking. In that case, you would have to bridge the original modem, but that doesn't seem to be the problem in your case.

 

Xbox One does, however, have a problem with the NAT resetting, so if you're using Instant-on mode, I would monitor your NAT every time you turn your console on. Instant-on mode has a tendency to reset your NAT, even when you think it's Open, because this whole thing sounds like a NAT issue. Or, if you want, you can switch the console to Energy Saving mode and see if that fixes the problem.

Every time you turn on your Xbox, check the NAT using the method you did earlier.

Well I'm not sure what else to do then, I mean I have no issues with other mp games I own so I don't understand why GTA just doesn't want to work. I check my NAT and it's open every time so I don't understand what could be the problem here.

 

I guess I just can't play it which is really frustrating. I could call over a technician again but I bet the game will just not work. This whole thing sounds like a router problem and if I have to replace my router for a new one just for one game that doesn't want to work then that is really dumb if that's the case.

I have the same issue and my 360 works flawless. Full sessions, no disconnection or players dropping out.

 

On my XB1 I get empty sessions or few player that leave right away.

 

What to do??
