dewan2000
Anybody experiencing lag in GTA Online? Specifically when you are a passenger in somebodies vehcile during missions. I am fairly certain it is not my connection, considering that I have a 50mb Down/ 15mb Upload speed and it is a stable connection. Happens as well when I am a host. KyojinEM
Blame Rockstar no dedicated servers
Phorkz
it's P2P yeah?
grimper12341
I'm getting this as well. I played hundreds of hours on xbox 360 before this though, and while there were always network problems (people getting dropped, unable to connect to session, etc) I never came across actual rubber banding lag. If I shot someone, they died, they didn't eat the bullets then warp right next to me and blast me with an auto shotty. If I shot at a fleeing car with my Hydra, it would blow up, not warp away from my bullets and end up halfway down the street. But now playing GTAO PC on the same network, I get rubber band lag in every single session. I get the above mentioned problems, plus if I cruise around in any sort of air vehicle I get homing missiles warping into me with no warning at all. I have no idea what is going on. @Phorkz, yes it's P2P, there are no servers. Edited April 22, 2015 by grimper12341
DentureDynamite
There are multiple graphical issues going on for sure, but I'm 90% sure that a lot of lag in Online is server-based; the more players, the more lag seems to crop up...and my PC is quite capable of 60fps at the 1920 x 1080 I'm running it at (specs below). Dell XPS 8700 | Core i7 4770 3.4GHz | BIOS A03 | Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 | 16GB G.SKILL DDR3 Sniper 1600MHz | EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Superclocked | Dell S2340M 23" IPS LED | Seasonic 650W M12II-650 | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB | Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB | ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Edited April 22, 2015 by DentureDynamite
longboardskier
Yup, I'm getting it to the point where it's completely unplayable. I was trying to play with a friend last night and we were in a chopper. As far as I could tell he just kept landing/crashing, but in reality it was me rubberbanding like hell over and over again. Tried a heist and I lagged so hard I dc'd.

Anotic
I join my friends free roam sessions (they're from the US) and I get disconnected after a few minutes, and before I get dced the lag is horrendous, it takes a few seconds to call in a Pegasus vehicle, everyone's warping around... aside from that issue, I'm constantly randomly disconnecting from deathmatch lobbies, race lobbies, free roam sessions... it's starting to piss me off. I can barely even play this game right now.
grimper12341
I'm wondering if it's maybe the fact that we don't pay for online. Console versions all pay a subscription that would fund network infrastructure, but since we don't maybe we get lower quality service?
