Pvt. Slim
not sure what the hell is going on, but i can't play because of this, and i was just on 10 hours ago no problems, how can a .exe file just disappear.?
TheMostKnowledgable
That's strange. Maybe a false positive and antivirus program you may all share in common is eating it? Validate the game files and see if it replaces them. Then visit the folder if it does, and maybe scan the folder, if it's still there after a replacement assuming validating grabs it for you and indeed replaces it for you, I guess it wasn't the AV. Just checked and mine is there, fwiw, using steam. Edited April 21, 2015 by TheMostKnowledgable
Pvt. Slim
I opened the folder, and the Launcher.exe is gone, not that it couldn't read it, it's F'in gone.
darkkterror
Over on the Steam GTAV forum earlier today a lot of people were reporting that Avast antivirus was flagging the launcher as a virus and quarantining it. Check with your AV program and see if it did the same. TheMostKnowledgable
GrandTeaRedemption
Gta 5 is a trojan, didnt you guys know? Ahaha
Segment
Are you running cancer like AVG? Only way exec files can vanish is your Anti virus detecting something and wiping/quarantining them. PS. I'm running Free version of latest Avast (and have been for last 6 years) no problems here. Edited April 21, 2015 by Segment
Pvt. Slim
Right, it turned out to be my Avast turdware screwing with me. I set an exclusion for the file, hopefully it doesn't happen again.. Thanks for the heads up. It had been fine since launch, but it picked today to remove it...lol Edited April 21, 2015 by Pvt. sivaG
Mine is still there. Lol.. I'm updating my Avast to the latest version and thank god, I saw your thread. I quickly went and added an exception even though the Launcher is still there. Prevention is better than cure, you know.. Haha

utack
Gta 5 is a trojan, didnt you guys know? Ahaha Highly scrambled and scanning your hardware for the DRM, it is actually not too far away from malicious software.
Braindawg
Check the game's file integrity. Right click on 'Grand Theft Auto V' in your games list and click properties, go through the tabs until you see the options to check the game's files and let it correct any problems you're having.
