Vagg
Seems GTAV can stack VRAM of the both cards in sli,is it for real?
disturbed325
Gta 4 and Max Payne 3 do it as well, it's something about the RAGE engine, the ram doesn't stack though.
Sleepy Dude
no, it multiplies the vram usage of each setting, so just divide in half both sides of the vram indicator at the top to get the actual value TheMostKnowledgable
jpeppard
Sounds to me like the game is misreporting. SLi duplicates the VRAM contents on each card, it does not stack on a hardware level.
TheMostKnowledgable
Sleepy dude is right, it's counting 2x per setting. If a setting takes 100mb, it's telling you it's using 200mb, cause technically, it is. The only guess - and it's only a guess - for why it's like this is that in the future they will upgrade to dx12. dx12 will allow SLI to use the ram independently (yes, you read that right - DX12 brings full and separate usage of your vram in SLI). Vagg
Ive heard about dx12, maybe R* put some dx12 technology in the game tho?

Wrong, This has been alluded to, but is not possible with current cards, because sharing memory between GPU's would create a massive bottleneck.
