You should be able to own your own business, or just work for Burger Shot. Even working for the LSPD for god's sake. We should play GTA Online with a more different outlook.

I agree! But the problem is that Rockstar does not seem to appreciate the role play.

You mean like a Burger Time minigame or to actually stand there flipping burgers for 10 bucks an hour?

How about if it it's a job that your character holds while your offline. Your away, he's making legit money somewhere, you get back on, you got extra cash.

Think of it this way. $10 is slightly higher than minimum wage in California. 30 game days happen in 24 real life hours (24*60)/48. If your character worked 8 hour shifts for 30 days at $10 an hour, that would come out to $2,400 every real life day of inactivity. Your character gets a higher rank or holds a certain job for a certain amount of time (one game year is only 12 days in real life), then they could get a raise/promotion/higher paying job. IF you increased the pay rate to represent the cost of everything in the GTA world then the pay could be much higher.

Then they could make it to where our characters where NPC's when we were offline. Driving around, going to work, filling up the city, and making money for you when your offline.

^^^actually a great idea. Except the last part. It would all just be notional if this was implemented. Like basically your character would just spawn outside of Burgershot when you log on, wearing the uniform. Get paid weekly of you log on every 7 days. Not logging on counts as days missed at work. Every 28 days you get a bonus. The first time it is a special car (Burgershot Stallion), all times after that is a cash bonus.

I want to work at the construction sites. That seems like the easiest job going in LS. Almost 2 years and no progress. Sound like my kind of work. Actually scrap that. Some crazy s#!t goes down on those sites. Cement trucks getting blown up, dodgy deals going down all the time and people getting shot every day. Maybe not.

Maybe I could work in the Mall. That place is never open. :p

It would be cool to have some kind of money making business interest in the city or countryside. Just another way to make gta dollars.

Not sure I agree that it should make you money while you don't play though. You should get out of it what you put in. Maybe some way it could work.

Think of it like a turn based aspect to the game. Send this character there with this loot, it takes this many hours, and you get this in return. Something similar, but without the turn based aspect.

No you don't. Rockstar built GTA around being a criminal not joe-average 9-5. Maybe with Mods/imagination you can but as far as the game mechanics and design intentions goes we are criminals.

You're thinking of sims. this is GTA where we play as criminals.

that being said im not against the idea and i like the idea, but this is GTA. Just wait for the pc mod, i'm sure somebody has allready started working on it.

anyone remember the life mod for Armma 2. i was always a terrorist, my mate's if they didnt join me would be a pimp and the other would concentrate on getting drugs. the joy of setting up ieds and blowing unsuspecting cops and civilians and the rage that would follow. good times.

Jesus, learn to read people. Nobody is saying we should stop doing missions or giving up as criminals, just the idea of adding something to the game

You should be able to deliver pizzas to random pedestrians via the Pizza Boy scooter. Have each delivery be timed, with the time limit getting more restricting with each successive delivery. You will be paid $50 per delivery at first, but eventually you'll get much more challenging ones that go for $500 a pop.

Once you reach a certain "level" in the activity, a Well Stacked Pizza company uniform will be unlocked for you to wear (outside of delivering pizzas).

This might be impossible to do in public sessions, though, so maybe the rewards per delivery should be higher than $500 when in a session with more than 10 people.

Yeah, that sounds cool. Rockstar should bring back activities from previous games. What about vigilante or paramedic? You could unlock the outfits by doing those. That sounds fair.

LOL. Just make it easier for the griefers. Waitin' outside of burgershot like "his shift ends in 5, we'll get him for everything he just made". No but seriously the game revolves around being a criminal and theres tons of mini careers/jobs you can take on. for example a bounty hunter. Those career mini games would just take up space we could have for something useful, like more re-skinned super cars that are being talked about a few threads down. They'd be no better than darts...or arm wrestling(unless some of you actually play those outside of the daily challenges).

I can't facepalm any harder after reading that... Those are recreational activities buddy boy. Everyone partakes in recreational actives, even criminals. The OP is talking about making a living in GTA through legitimate means. If that were the case then it wouldn't be GTA but another SIMS like clone.
