sivispacem
That's not quite accurate. The 6R4 produced 420bhp in qualifying trim, the XJ220 550bhp. The 6R4 engine formed the basic block design (though it was bored and stroked out to 3.5L in Jaguar form) but the internals, heads and most of the rest of the engine were changed fundamentally to enable it to run forced induction reliably. That meant less revs and lower compression (I suppose you could say the reciprocating unit was in a lower state of tune), but thanks to twin turbos, the 220 developed much more power. *MURDOC*, dewtech and K1FFLOM 3 AMD Ryzen 5900X (4.65GHz All-Core PBO2) | Gigabye X570S Pro | 32GB G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL16 EK-Quantum Reflection D5 | XSPC D5 PWM | TechN/Heatkiller Blocks | HardwareLabs GTS & GTX 360 Radiators Corsair AX750 | Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL | EVGA GeForce RTX2080 XC @2055MHz | Sabrant Rocket Plus 1TB Sabrant Rocket 2TB | Samsung 970 Evo 1TB | 2x ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Q Acoustics 2010i | Sabaj A4

Some of the rallycross ones produce a LOT more than the stock 420bhp though - there's talk of some hitting 700bhp by the time they'd tricked them out a bit. sivispacem
They are, but they're mostly running forced induction. Like the Jag Also, comparing modified to factory is always a bit apples-to-oranges. On the subject of classic rally cars, though, a mate of mine's dad used to run a 2.3 Cosworth Duratec powered Mk2 Escort with something like 340bhp in race trim. I'd love to have one of those. I doubt that Ferrari will ever make a manual again. Another dream car of mine is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 KR. Those are rare breeds, but they are incredibly beautiful. Even if I take one for a sunday drive. my "runners up" would be: I hope you don't f*ck em up like these guys did. I'm not a fan of stanced vehicles but those look absolutely terrible. I wonder what the owners thought of doing to their cars. Cars are meant to be respected, to be loved, and of course to be driven, but those are just wack. Edited February 22, 2016 by Diamond Dogs

sivispacem
It's not the lows that bothers me particularly, it's reducing the size of the contact patch to two inches and running idiotic stretched tyres. savidge
@all who dislike my "runners up" choices; they're (mainly) show cars. the goal with demon camber is to align the wheels in such a way that the lip of the wheels are in line with the wheel arches (EDIT: whilst maintaining as much negative camber as possible). basically form>function. savidge
it doesn't preclude them looking totally sh*tbut that's just your opinion (and, of course, you're entitled to it), not a fact. i'm sure that the owners of these cars think they're masterpieces and don't really care if people think they're ugly. but you're right about the dangerous part, hehe. sivispacem
It's an opinion shared by a huge proportion of people who are actually interested in the driving dynamics of cars. Their looking sh*t is derived entirely from the fact their primary purpose (a mode of transport) has been completely ruined.
