Dream Car?

Recommended Posts

dingodile_r89

Owned by Tata Motors and that's about it. It's not a homegrown company, to me, it'll always be British.

The P1 in astonishing car, if I was buying a car for that much money, I'd have the driver's car as opposed to something a bit more practical. Heck, if I had that much money, my daily driver would be a GTR or a Ferrari 458.

I would probably kill to drive something like the Sauber Mercedes C9, the Jaguar XJ13, the R8 LMP1, the TS030 or the Peugeot 918 HDi FAP.

^Speaking of crazy cars, driving a roadcar GT-ONE on the streets would be mad. Used to be my favourite car.

At the moment it's dad's 1984 Bronco. Sh*t, he and I are going to a Bronco show next weekend to spread the word. I have an ad on craigslist, too.

Dream car? Heh, this one's tough... I'd die to have a R-32, a Supra, an Evo X, a Testarossa, a P1, a RS6, an i8, a E60 M5, a '70 Charger, a Charger Hellcat, a S15, a 911...

But probably the one I'll, indeed, pursue and have is either a R-32 (which will require a lot of paperwork and headache, or leaving Brazil altogether) or an E30 touring.

My dream car is the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.

Although I would take any Lamborghini or classic Ferrari. There are many more, I'll get round to posting them later.

My dream-car ?

Anything decent from the Game GTA-V but in -real- :

Like the Banshee which was made out of a Dodge Viper and a 1st prize win when they released GTA-V in 2013.

One of these beauties :D

2001_Lexus_IS300_front2_zpsadfeac93.jpg

I'd love to have one resprayed in a metallic black. As for other mods, I'd lower it a bit, and then slap a fresh pair of tires wrapped around BBS SR rims. Performance wise, I don't think I'd do anything to it considering it would be my only car (and also a daily of course).

Honestly? I know I keep talking about a lot of other cars, but it keeps coming back to me with this car: A series 1 Citroën CX Prestige.

(My dream car used to be a Citroën DS, but now that I own one, it really can't be a dream car any more.)

Jota

You mean a Jota replica, surely? No Jotas actually exist, the only original one burned to the ground in 1971

The one you've posted doesn't seem to be running wide enough flares and lacks the front canards. In fact it looks like it could be a normal Miura with Jota lights.

-E

It's actually an SVJ, which is a Miura SV with Jota lights.

What do you think the "J" stands for? Jota. And that's exactly as what they're called. Also, it's more than just the lights that are different. Look a bit closer.

It's not a Jota, though, and was never badged or advertised as such. The Jota looks completely different:

360451.jpg

Note magnesium wheels, wider front and rear flares and track and canards; the rear is also quite a different, as is the specification of the engine.

Jota (well, a replica based on the original designs) rear:

jota2.jpg

SVJ rear:

miura_svj32.jpg

For reference, a standard SV rear:

64_7.jpg

The SVJ, as I've already said, is basically an SV with fixed Jota-type headlights, though it also has some other minor embellishments designed to ape the Jota like a small front splitter (but no canards) and a rear bumper styled somewhat like the Jota's by virtue of removing the central mesh area and routing the exhausts through it instead of underneath the bumper.

No-one who knows anything about the Miura calls the SVJ a Jota, because it isn't one.

First off, I quite know the differences between the original and the ones upgraded to Jota specs. You pointing out said differences again does nothing to forward this conversation.

You fail to miss the point that the "J" in"SVJ" stands for "Jota" and is how these cars are referred.

It is not incorrect by any standard.

http://www.rmsothebys.com/mc14/monaco/lots/1969-lamborghini-miura-s-jota/1066002

Joe Sackey, author of "The Miura Bible" also refers to them as "SV Jota." Since he's the authority on the subject I highly suggest you contact and notify him that he's wrong in the matter.

Well given you posted an SVJ instead of an actual Jota and called it a "Jota" rather than an SVJ or SV Jota, please forgive me for believing you didn't actually know the difference.

You fail to miss the point that the "J" in"SVJ" stands for "Jota" and is how these cars are referred.

No, I'm fully aware of it. I'm also aware that it's typically not how these cars are referred to in enthusiast circles, as the single Autoblog link you've posted appears to be one of a definite minority of sources referring to the car as an "SV Jota", and no source refers to the SVJ as a "Jota" in isolation; as I've already said, it isn't one.

RM Auctions listing for the same car:

http://www.rmsothebys.com/az15/arizona/lots/1971-lamborghini-miura-svj-by-bertone/1072238

Note the absence of any reference to it as an "SV Jota".

The second one you've linked to isn't an SV at all, but a Miura S with a Jota conversion and SV engine, neither of which were actually done by Lamborghini.

Joe Sackey, author of "The Miura Bible" also refers to them as "SV Jota."

He doesn't refer to it as a "Jota" in isolation, though, does he?

SV Jota is acceptable given that the "J" stands for Jota; that's not my point and I never suggested it wasn't. I took issue with you calling it a "Jota" in isolation, because it isn't one.
