The Migration Crisis

Recommended Posts

Raavi

I'm all for letting people in, just as long as we have a clear pathway for those people to a relatively normal life. People come here from war torn countries in search of a better future for themselves and for their children, and contrary to what some people seem to be spewing we can accommodate them without too much sweat off our backs. Yet instead of coming up with clear ideas for that, we're too busy entertaining EU member states that do want to enjoy the benefits of the EU, but don't want to share the burdens.

I am all for cutting our conrtibution payments to the EU, as long as other countries don't want to take any accepted refugees that are already within the EU borders.

Croatian police couldn't stop migrants on border with Serbia. Now they are going towards Slovenia. Slovenia announced that they will close their borders but how succesful will they be?

I'm still curious as to why they can't stay in countries like Serbia or Croatia. Or even then, why they just don't take a boat to France and go through there to Germany or take the boat directly to Germany itself. Lengthy process, though.

Serbia,Croatia and other Balkan states don't want them, from all of those countries people emmigrate in towsends becouse people there can't find a job. So they can't feed a millions of immigrants. And if they try to go with boats to France and Germany european navies would stop them and return them back to Libya and Turkey.

Because Croatia and Serbia are "below their class" and they believe that Germany is the country where milk and honey flow.

The people who come over with boats don't have their own boats. They pay money to smugglers who own the boats and who only want to use the shortest route.

I mean in reality that's a grim way to put it but the truth is there really is no money in those countries to pay for refugees.

Both Serbia and Croatia have signed the refugee convention from Geneva. There is no reason for them to let all people pass. Both are save countries and both should host some refugees.

Personally I believe the United States hold at least as much responsibility as Germany in this crisis. And the United States take much too few refugees compared to Germany or Austria or Sweden.

It's logistically more difficult to get them to the US since, you know, a large ocean separates us.

Lech Poznan supporters boycott Europa League match

Poland: Fans boycott EL match against Belenenses because 1 EUR of each ticket goes to refugees.

During last home match fans of Lech Poznan displayed banners against refugees and chanted anti-refugees songs. At one banner you could read "This is obvious and simple for us. We do not want refugees in Poland".

Thursday this week Lech Poznan play home against Belenenses (Portugal) in Europa League. UEFA announced that all clubs participating in the competition have to pass the 1 from each ticket sold on their forthcoming match played at home on refugees.

As a result of that Lech Poznan supporters have announced they will boycott the home match this week against Belenenses to make sure they don't contribute with money to the refugees!

This is how the polish fans responded

You Germans think that Europe is you house and the rest of the countries are your maids where you can do what you want with them. It has always been like this. That's why you act like bullies with the rest of the countries "You either obey or we sink your economy". Funny because you hypocrites didn't pay the full debt after WWII

Thought this was rather interesting, and yet another fine display of the BBC's 'impartiality' regarding the migrant crisis:

And as for the content of the video?

Seriously, is your intention in this section to make meaningless, baiting one liners?

You sound exactly like the host of that show of whom would jump at the button to cut off anyone who doesn't conform to your opinion.

I didn't watch the video, any 'bias' against the right wing is a bias in reality, not the BBC. I don't think you're going to convince me that the BBC is run by Communists, because it demonstrably isn't.

The BBC is a public broadcast service paid for by taxes, they can't have people on there talking about building a wall to keep blacks out or blathering about Muslim paedophile gangs and their pinko sympathisers.

Because off course right wing radio hosts have far more patience for dissenting opinion.. I think this BBC radio host was actually being quite patient with these frightened delusional half wits.

And as for the content of the video?

The content was tragically bad, to be honest. The core of the arguments seems to be:

"Can you prove that they're not extremists/terrorists/murderers/rapists?"—negative proof fallacy with some (un)subtle fear mongering

"But what about our own homeless people?!"—a popular 'argument' implying that immigration is detrimental to a country's economy which shows incredible ignorance of economics; others have gone over this even in this thread

"We should be extremely suspicious of our own homegrown Islamic community!"—blatant Islamophobia, shouldn't even have to point this one out

I honestly don't know where you see a left-wing bias. The center-"left" also seems to claim that the BBC is biased against them, for some reason. I don't follow BBC avidly at all, but the fact each party accuses the channel of favoring the other actually suggests some okay journalism.

All I heard was a deconstruction of clichéd ramblings or a full dismissal in particularly pathetic cases. Maybe the host could have spent more time refuting them, but really any of that can be done by anyone with a minimal grasp of logic and access to statistics. Of course, informed debate requires informed debaters, and those alarmist halfwits are completely foreign to the "minimally informed" demographic.

Not a single caller to that show advocated "building a wall to keep blacks out". But well done in demonstrating yet another spin on opinion to paint them as flatout racists. And whether you are willing to acknowledge it or not, Muslim paedophile gangs are a real, very real thing.

I'm not sure which country you are from, but in the UK the BBC is the most prominent, most followed news broadcaster, and any argument against its pro-mass immigration agenda I'll happily shut down with an abundance of proof to counter. Any 'right-wing' media other than a few newspapers has nowhere near the degree of influence the BBC holds. And by "patience" of that radio host, do you perhaps mean 'allowing a voice to be spoken whilst showering over it with the usual emotionally-manipulating rhetoric until the caller gets too loud in his valid points for me to provide a formative, balanced retort so I can quickly hold up on him'?

@blackmid

My case is more against the blatant position of the BBC in relation to immigration, not that of those whose ill-informed judgement of immigrants provides some prejudiced accessment. All I want to see is a balanced media who won't shut down their challengers. And I've already covered how the BBC smeared a left-wing politician in the name of Jeremy Corbyn, but I'm not naive enough to ignore that although they demonised an electorate of whose policies I'll never agree with, I'll not stick my fingers in my ears and ignore a carefully structured campaign. There's an agenda within the BBC, beleive me.

The child sex industry has been a feature of British societies long before Muslims started coming over. There's nothing particularly Islamic about these gangs either, right? Aren't they functionally identical to other pimps, ie white paedophile gangs?

I still haven't watched the video, though if what Black MD tells me is right, then it's exactly what I expected.

Tell me of a case where a white paedophile gang committed the same number of sickening atrocities against children that was covered up to steer clear of upsetting an ethnic group.

Fair point, man. Yeah, the host should have gone for a more thorough debate. After all, it's national media and they should put some effort into it, even if the prospect of just putting them down is tempting. Biased media is generalized problem, really, which is unfortunate. It's getting harder to find disinterested media.

Negative proof fallacy. I don't have to prove that Muslims aren't disproportionally, ummm, paedophilic (lmao) , you have to prove that they are. And you have to prove that it was covered up due to political correctness. I know the case you're talking about, and for the argument that it was all a matter of PC gone mad, we have the word of one old white prosecutor.

Do we have any statistics on child sexual assault to settle this argument? There should be a demographic of the perpetrators list publicly available somewhere. Otherwise this is just going to keep going in one retarded circle.

The political color of the BBC is a subject for the UK politics thread, and the pedophilia rubbish is unfounded racist garbage, so there is no need for this "retarded cycle" to go on anymore.

The fact that BBC refers to it as a 'migrant crisis' rather than a 'refugee crisis' seems BBC is subtly against the refugees. 'Migrants' are people just seeking something somewhere else. 'Refugees' are people in need.

It's funny you should touch on that, as on the BBC News app, whenever they cover a story regarding this issue they always provide a disclaimer at the bottom of the article that their wording of 'migrants' covers that of refugees and immigrants, but no mention of economic migrants.

I know they do, but disclaimers is where you expose your bias, because no one reads disclaimers.
