Creed Bratton
That's pretty selfish of him, most school shooters are like that. Plus, the kid was 13. He had the whole rest of his schooling ahead of him and all that other stuff he could've done, had he not messed up by shooting his teacher with a crossbow, of all weapons. He'll be fine. Well, relatively. In America they would have tried him as an adult because their laws don't make any sense. But as a 13 year old kid under European laws he'll get the care he needs. He may not have a perfect life going forward but it's far from over.
Queen
Well I'm truly upset that you had a poor education, SouthLand. It's teachers like the ones you had that spoil the reputaton of the good ones. Believe me, I've had my share of heartless educators. For example, during a prep I went to see my algebra teacher for help. As soon as I opened the door I was yelled at for bothering him. But then the mass majority helped pull me out of some difficult times. I owe a lot to my teachers. Perhaps your perception is limited to your community, which certainly doesn't make up the majority, when you consider there is an entire world out there. Well i guess good teachers apply and work in private schools in my country. It's so easy to become a teacher in my country. At the end of highschool you take a "College Entry Exam". If you score a 5/12 you can go to college and take class so you become a teacher.

007_eleven
I do agree that victims need to violently stand up to their bullies as school bureaucracies in my experience can do little to curb abuse that goes on between students. Warnings or a few day suspensions do little, what we need is maintenance of juvenile records or expulsion of perpetrators but parents won't support that since everyone thinks their child is a little angel and it would be too inconvenient to take them to another school. Anyway it's a messy area, juvenile he said, she said crap so since school authorities can't or won't decisively act on student bullying revenge attacks will continue to occur. As for the policy of not pressing criminal charges onto minors I'm sure it's a great policy for the bullies themselves, knowing they can get away with atrocious behaviour with only a slap on the wrist. Jehannum
The kid's worse than a bully. He's a murderer. Thousands or millions of kids get bullied and don't kill people as a result. 13 is old enough to know what you're doing is a crime. By murdering someone you renounce your childhood and you should be tried and treated as an adult. igotskiz
Killer Queen, I am aware of teachers that help their students, and I applaud them, but it may be just a fact that me and Southland come from different districts than you. In my experience, a rough majority truly don't give a sh*t. It may stem from the fact that a lot of students don't, either. I will say, however, that that number reversed when I hit high school. There were plenty of hardworking teachers, and maybe I see them in a negative light because of my own shortcomings. But that being said, you have to beleive me that there were still teachers with the same work ethics of a slacking student. On topic: Jehanuum could not have put it more eloquently. He was well aware of his actions and chose to hurt or take the lives of those who were innocent. Now, if he did it to his bully, I would be semi-sempathetic, as he could at least make the assertion (one that I may still not agree with) that he was just ending a problem, but if I were the judge, he would have hammered the nails to his own coffin by killing those who weren't even variables in the same scenario. SouthLand
Funny how most of you guys talk about prison sentences like if you been inside. I was inside and forcing a 13 year kid into prision will not making him a better human being but actually much worse. Acehilm
Here in Australia about a decade ago, some kid shot another kid in the playground with a cross-bow; also had two fire bombs I believe. Anyway, the kid with the cross-now got tackled by other students and restrained. It's not a very effective weapon, really. Tech-Noir
