Finished Hearts Of Stone today. Brilliant, simply brilliant.

This game fills me with a sense of satisfaction that I rarely get from video games these days. I can't really explain the feeling this game gives me, just a sense of sheer pleasure and enjoyment. It just has the "IT" factor for me. In years and years time, when I think back to great games, this will sit rightfully on its throne.

Scenes From A Marriage was incredible, I know I said I wasn't too fond of the wedding quest (still true) bit this one was great, I loved the little puzzles and the piecing together of what went on, then watching It play out. Amazing.

I also got the "good ending" which I was happy with. I watched the other ending on YouTube, and the dialogue options regarding Ciri gave me goosebumps, having obviously completed the main story, hearing the helpful comments regarding Ciri brought back some great memories of the main story.

Started Blood and Wine, only about 45 minutes so far, but the setting is incredible and I'm dying to get stuck in!

One of my main issues of why I couldn't get into the game in the earlier days, but now I'm getting used to it.

Slowly working on Blood And Wine. I mean, really, really slowly.

Spent most of today doing treasure hunt's for the mastercrafted armor set(s), and renovating my new house.

I was working on the Feline set, and I had to clear out a bandit camp and the leader (Hanse base) the bandits I killed were dropping 9999 coin EACH. Well most were, some dropped nothing but the vast majority were dropping insane money.

Is this normal? I'm not complaining, made renovating the house and paying for upgrades much easier 😅

Level 12 currently on Velen, I basically completed all the main quests there but I'm not planning on moving to Novigrad until I clear most of the region. Gotta say playing the game with Polish language adds a better atmosphere to the world.

Still cruising nicely through Blood and Wine.

Toussaint is amazing. I don't know how I will ever go back to Novigrad or Velen or Skellige, and leave the blue sky and green pastures behind.

The atmosphere is incredible. I already wrote about my feeling when I first went to Skellige, the music and ambience was insane. I got the same feeling riding in to Toussaint for the first time. With the hustle and bustle of the tournament, the clear skys and saturated landscapes, the feeling of an environment filled with joy, when everywhere else feels so moody and defeated (in a good way of course)

I just completed the knights tournament. I won the shooting range and the fight, but I lost the race. Was a shame as I would have liked to have been victorious.   However, I try and avoid reloading any saves on this (in fact, I never do when it comes to quests) I let it all play out, and if I ever do a new game +, I have something to aim for to make it different.

I did win the Gwent tournament though, and somehow the Skellige faction has become my second strongest deck after monster's, who would have thought it!

I also upgraded my mutations, the upgrade to the Aard sign is insanely good. It freezes foes and you can even get an insta kill with it.

Currently in Skellige and want to get the ursine armor, which imo is the best looking armor in the game.

I recently mastercrafted the feline armor (you can mastercraft at Toussaint) However it comes with a hood, and it's not a cool Ezio/Assassins Creed type hood. If I could take it down it would be perfect .

Yeah I definitely wouldn't come here too early and under levelled. In fact, I don't even know if you can come until you reach a certain point? I came after the main story and Hearts Of Stone. I would recommend doing this last anyway, after spending so much time in the other cities and realms, Toussaint will make a really nice change of pace and atmosphere.

If you are still in Velen and a completionist, you have no idea😁 Don't want to discourage you, but if you do every bandit camp/monster nest/treasure location you'll have a hard time progressing through this amazing story. Sides quests are def. worth picking up though, so many gems.

You can wear The Professor's Glasses to take it off (or Donkey Ears, or any mask, or use a mod).

Feline is also my favorite until I get to Toussaint, and then it's Manticore.

Hard to tell I'm on PS4 so I don't see a countdown, I've been playing for two weeks so maybe 20 to 25 hours...

Mostly just avoid the Earth Elemental.

There's one one guarding the Superior Feline diagrams.

Until you rank up it's very difficult to deal them any damage at all. Other monsters should be more or less doable. Leshen is scary the first time you encounter it but as far as I remember the 2nd most difficult there, if low-ranked, is another monster in the contract called Mysterious Tracks.

I am currently using the Tesham Mutna armor. It isn't the best but I think it looks great. I'm not struggling (yet) with any beasts or quests, so I will be leaving it on until I need to improve some stats.

I wish you could dye all armor, not just Witcher armor. Would be so cool to dye some of the other sets.

In terms of scary beasts/monsters, anything bug related gets me. I hate bugs 😂 The giant centipedes are a real pain in the ass at the moment, in terms of being terrifying I mean...

Jesus, he looks terrifying there!

I just done a quest in Toussaint and a guy asked me to come outside for a fight because I skipped the que in the bank. If if looked like this, I'm not sure he'd of bothered.

Is there a strong MOD community for this then? I never looked in to it

There's a lot of good mods and many are just drag and drop into the mods folder.

So I just started checking out some mods. I found a cloak mod that is really tickling my fancy, so I started looking through and found this screenshot:

This is now how I need my Geralt to look. This is badass. I'm getting Darth Malgus vibes.

There is clearly some more mods going on here than just a cloak, eye colour for one.

There are lots of mods, and most of them can be found on NexusMods. In particular it's worth it to check out HD Rework, which improves visuals without much performance cost (but likely higher GPU memory usage), and The Besserwisser/Nitpicker Patch, a collection of many small bugfixes by the community.

Then there are some quality of life improvements: Torch: Hold to Interact fixes what probably is the biggest annoyance in the whole game - when you're trying to use some object but instead end up extinguishing a nearby torch; Sort Everything makes it easier to track what you have in your inventory, in a configurable way; Fast Stash makes the stash work faster (it can be very slow if you have a lot of items in it).

It's also worth considering Friendly HUD, which lets you configure the interface (or switch it off altogether, as some people like to do for better immersion), and possibly AutoLoot to automatically pick up more mundane items, such as herbs (do not use for quest items but this setting is off by default).

Thanks for the tip, I'm exactly 26 hours with 43 minutes.

I decided to finally move to Novigrad, I'm gonna come back to Velen to finish those monster contracts as soon as I'm more level up (or if the story takes me back here).

Did I mention how beautiful the lands surrounding Novigrad are? Those sunflower plantations kind of reminds of Shrek lol

Jesus, that's a lot of mods 👍I will fiddle about with some for sure.

Finished Blood And Wine today. All I can say is bravo. Just amazing.

I know I have sung the praises of this game really passionately ever since I started playing in March, bit it evoked a reaction in me that is so rare from video games these days, in actual fact, I don't think any game aside from San Andreas on it's release, has ever made me feel the way this game does.

And even that didn't give me the same sense of attachment to the characters and world. I seriously think it might be the best game I have ever played.

Don't get me wrong, It isn't perfect, but that "It factor" just consumes me on this game.

The DLC's were equally as good as the main story. In fact, Blood And Wine was my favourite story/setting from the whole game. In my world of Witcher 3, I could happily settle down in Toussaint.

I got the bad ending for Blood And Wine, and despite saying I've never reloaded a save so far, I think I will on this occasion. Blood And Wine is the ending of this journey and I want that moment of peace and happiness. Luckily, I made saves at all the right moments (no research was performed prior, I just have a save game fetish) So tomorrow, I will fire it up and see if I can get the good ending.

I was heavily debating a New Game +, because I'm not ready to leave it all behind. However, I am also tempted to save the New Game + for the remastered version coming out next year, but with the way Cyberpunk Is going, It doesn't fill me with confidence that this upgraded version will be coming anytime soon.

I will be starting Valhalla in about a weeks time, so maybe I will save the New Game for later.

All in all, amazing experience. One of them games that will leave a lasting impression on me, and something I am so glad I donated 160 hours of my life to ❤️
