Online?

I have a few questions for GTA V online, can I play coop with my friend or do we have both have to go online and find each other? Also can you play missions together or is everyone just killing each other there? I tried going online a few times but I get disconnected after a few minutes, anyone else having that problem?

Start an invite-only session by starting from Single Player > Pause the game > Go to the Online Tab > Invite-Only Session

 

As soon as you load in simply invite your friend, from there just choose a random job or activity to do and invite him from there.

 

As for the disconnecting problem.. it happens a lot in this game, usually when you're trying to get into a public lobby. You can try restarting your modem/router or opening your ports if you haven't already but aside from that... it's mainly on R*'s end.

What do you define as co-op?

 

If you mean playing on the same console together using two controllers, then no.

 

And yes, you're able to play missions. People doesn't necessary kill each other all the time.

 

As for your last question, the Rockstar servers has their downtimes now and then, but that really depends on what platform you play on.
