Sideways Appreciation Thread

Seeing as the last drifting thread was cut down in its prime I thought there should be another one created for anybody that wants to post videos or discuss anything to do with going sideways in GTA.

 

On that topic, I didn't specify that it is a drifting thread as I'd like to see all sorts of stuff like powersliding and burnouts too. Whatever you want to share that is vaguely related to cars or vehicles going sideways is welcome here, whether it's a five second clip of a corner you took in a particularly stylish way or a ten minute technical drift track video it's all good.

 

This is my one and only (so far) video of my 'drifting', attempting to drift might be more accurate, but like I say let's not take the act of going sideways in a game too seriously and have a bit of fun with it.

Nice one, no its not on the share factory I listened to all the tracks on there and wasn't that taken with them so I uploaded it on a memory stick. It's called The Bad Touch by The Bloodhound Gang, a song I liked from way back.

I never truly got to grips with the Ruiner as a drift car but I know it's what a lot of people prefer and I can see why.

The worst feeling in this game is when you suddenly find yourself pulling off a huuuuge, beautiful drift out of pure luck and then bam, NPC car is right in the way to f*ck it up.

I prefer the futo my self but I like having a variety of cars. I have an entire garage dedicated to slidey cars and don't worry about the jazz im with you on that one.

hey that was pretty awesome. i know how much of a bitch it can be to switch to cinematic mode mid drift. i love me a good ruiner drift. idk if you were slammed or not, but if not, try it. also, you have a great technique with starting the drift with a downshift/clutch kick tirespin, you should also do another one at the apex of the turn to be able to drift out of the turn. youll be happy with your longer drifts.

 

ALSO I REALLY APPRECIATE THE LACK OF MUSIC TO HEAR WHATS GOING ON.

I don't mean to hate, but your video in the OP was relatively boring. The video of the Ruiner was pretty cool, I'd suggest you work with that remove the HUD for a complete view. I'm still trying to learn to drive entirely in cinematic view, and it makes for some cool shots.

I thought that, not only was the drifting very good but it's rare too see the cinematic camera used so well.

 

While you're here I was wondering if you'd mind reposting some of the videos that you originally posted in the drifting corner, your custom tracks and any instructional ones would be useful. If not then no worries.

I agree with you, I didn't start the thread to show off my skills it was just because the last one got shut down. I'm still very much a novice and a mediocre one at that.

Cracking video that, it's a pleasure to see what someone with ability can can make out of the sandbox of GTA. I haven't seen the film so some of the homage aspects went over my head but I got the drift, so to speak.

Cheers fellas, nothing too serious... Just having some fun! That said, I have to say i'm super jelly of the PC users and their new editor. Some of the angles that they are able to get with ease, REALLY elevate the art. I only hope R* eventually give us something similar (but i'm certainly not crossing my fingers).
