redpoint
...Liberty City wasn't just based on New York, its based on a number of cities... no, is a comdensed version of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and New Jersey, just more crammed and condensed, they didn't added anything that wasn't in New York. Isn't some of it based on places like Chicago and that too? I read somewhere it was

StJimmy
replace tijuana with analheim and id say it would have been the perfect map. You're anal over analheim my friend
Choco Taco
Those saying the fan map has more mountains are wrong. The ratio of mountainous area to flat land in the countryside is much higher in GTA V than in the fan map. The fan map has a much better balance. theGTAking101
CarlitoDorito
I like the map, as fanboy and defender as it is to say you like something in V. Like the older games I just play and get on with it. As far as detail it's the most detailed, so that's a plus. I'd love more desert, more forest too. I'd also love to be indestructible and be able to fly. King Vercetti
Tops, another thread where you guys can circle jerk over how much you hate GTA V's map despite it being miles ahead of the previous games in the series. Nothing to this day has beaten the SA map in terms of fun, and variety and the sense of scale. I disagree. V's map did. And I second that. I don't care if San Andreas is the fan favorite In the series (according to this place at least), there's no way it's map beats the GTA V map. Just no. It's map is alright but it is not as varied and just not as fun to explore.
Dick Grayson
That map would have been much better. Los Santos would have felt a lot more like LA, spread out, with more urban sprawl. A second city is the icing on the cake. Less mountainous areas too, that would felt much better. V's map space was really wasted by the excessive presence of mountainous terrain. 90% of the mountains need to be replaced with more forest and more desert especially, you can see one end from the other. lastmanonearth
thafablifee46
Its funny cause gta v could have taken place in gta sa's rendition of JUST Los Santos and its outskirts.. I really think R* should have tried to out do themselves and make a more bigger and varied map.
ZHPbim
That map is completely off from LA. the east river is more to the west, running the opposite angle. Santa monica/venice is in a horrible spot and looks like the sand part of the beach extends out way too long. East LA is huge while west LA is tiny. The airport and docks are in totally different locations. I dont seem to see any hollywood/beverly hills.... etc LS is at least somewhat geographically correct when it comes to the real LA. The general shape and where each neighborhood is fairly correct. thafablifee46

SuperGTFan
This big map is probably the main reason why IGN always shout "GTA 5 is a masterpiece" just by looking at it . I wonder if they ever tried to review the Police Al....
SuperGTFan
I wonder what activities this DLC is going to add for those semi-empty mountains. Other than the Base Jumps. Edited July 7, 2015 by SuperGTFan

Saikou
Indeed, it would've. Maybe Rockstar would've allowed cars to go over 140MPH or whatever the current speed limit is for the top supercars.
Mirage Las Vegas
I'm liking the new map. What would make it perfect in my eyes though is if you threw in a highly detailed Las Venturas somewhere in the desert region. As you probably can guess, Im a huge, HUGE fan of its real life counterpart! Besides, we've robbed Caesars Palace already in SA. Would be nice to hit some of the other strip resorts too, just like Danny Ocean. Edited July 9, 2015 by Mirage Las Vegas
