Sov47
I'm a returning player from GTA V on Xbox 360. For me the unstable launch and many glitches ruined my first experience of the game, but I didn't give up. I found ways to do what I can and have fun (hard when everyone was grinding rooftop rumble and troling). Anyway I came to the PC online hoping to give newcomers the experience I never had (well I did, I started an extra character not too long before the PC version to see what was fixed and so I would know what I need to tell players who are stuck.) Thing is, I come into online and see half the server being transfered characters, the other all lvl1 players asking what they're supposed to do here. If you wanted to know what to do, you'd be at least lvl 3 with your first free car, but not, they decided it was too good for them and now they're bitching the game is too unclear. So I helped a great deal of people, hosting lvl 5 missions from Simeon, telling them where to get their cars, guns and property. I mean at least enjoy the singeplayer first so you actually know how to shoot. At some point I had to move on because it was time to help a trio of close friends get into the game. We had some insane moments I rarely had on Xbox (friends make a difference). But I kept thinking how these people would have to go along without help. Then I saw so many people bitching about basic things on this forum, that, if only they paid attention, they would know. I figured if I wanted to sleep well, I should at least create a GTA Online guide going into detail in just about anything there's to know about GTA Online. So here I'm starting this partially pointless topic, asking you first of all. Should I actually write this guide, or should I leave them to their ignorance criticizing my favourite game series because they don't pay attention. And if I were to write this guide, what do you thing will DEFINITELY have to be in there? Maybe something not a lot of players know or some basic info that everyone seems to overlook, anything. Maybe share some stupid questions you heard people ask. Doesn't really matter, I'll probably write this guide anyway since it's too painful seeing people complain about how they don't know how to lose the cops or how they're supposed to swim (YES THAT HAPPENED) Sorry for the messy post. I was hanging around with my friend, reunited after a buying the game for different consoles. We were just minding our business, then this lvl1 guy comes up and starts shooting us, needless to say, he learned his lesson. But he was good, really good. I wondered if it was the keyboard and mouse or just skill, as me n my friend play with controllers. So I sent him a message to quit being a douche and try his luck in deathmatch. I used to play free-aim on console and just recently started playing with mouse and keyboard. I gotta admit that free-aiming with mouse is much more accurate than a controller. He was level 1 and he was doing pretty good with a kb/m, I could only imagine the higher skilled players when you run into them with a controller. I suggest: 1: stick to auto-aim if you want to play with a controller 2: move on you KB/M for free-aim 3. become a master at free-aim w/ controller If you guys were in auto-aim he's probably a GTAO veteran who just decided to create a new character. Happens all the time, even I've done it just to mess around with peeps.

I moved from the console free-aim to assisted because of a lack of players (and my low experience with enemy AI at that point), now I can take the world on to face a new challenge... whatever. BustaNutsak
So here I'm starting this partially pointless topic, asking you first of all. Should I actually write this guide Yes! Write the guide Broseph. I've not yet set foot in MP. I want to but I can't stop playing the story! When I finally do though, it would be nice to know enough to get the most out of it. I've been avoiding all forms of GTA spoilers gameplay etc since I played on a friends console for a few hours over 2 years ago and loved it. Needless to say I am having a great time with it now. swirler
I gotta say my limited experience with GTA:O has been a proper headache! This is my first (I think) 3rd person online game with focus on PvP. I got a 2nd copy of this game for my bf so we could do heists, and maybe some other stuff. I hadnt looked into any specifics, but Ive played a number of GTA's over the years and enjoyed them all, figured heists would be a good laugh. The short version is, we had a few hours together last weekend to play and it was a bit of a nightmare. I opted to take the tut for online incase there were some things I wouldnt easily find out thru simply playing, he didnt. Despite trying several ways of entering GTA:O to play together, I couldnt join coz I was being pushed from load screen to lobby with random public events. Came to light (eventually) I had to go along this route as part of the tut, since I was getting introduced to some contacts etc and it was mandatory, I told him he may as well do it anyway. Turns out he couldnt do it after having said no! He spent ages creating a char and his bonus $ was put on his char, he didnt want to create a new one. Anyway, I spent far too long in the dark in terms of how long the tut was when all I wanted to do was spend a bit of time playing in the same world. Even after I finished the tut section, it was a chore just getting into a private world, I kept getting spam invites even with any option I could find in both main menu's and phone to just STOP/PRIVATE/GTFO/NOPE/NOTY/IMBEINGSERIOUSNOWIREALLYJUSTWANNATRYSOMESTUFFWITHAFRIEND, I kept getting them. Tried starting our own event, we found ourselves in a public game and once that was over we were in SEPARATE public worlds!? No idea how you can develop something for years, spend north of a 100M doing so, and its impossible to just see your friends list, click on a name to invite and take it from there. There are options that lead you to believe you can do crew only or private solo etc, but it didnt seem to matter what you picked.

There are options that lead you to believe you can do crew only or private solo etc, but it didnt seem to matter what you picked. Allright *snaps fingers* lemme help you out on that whole wall of text. -Ok, playing together: When you're in singleplayer, in the pause menu, go to Online - Play Online - Here you can choose to host a Closed friend session or even Private session. To invite him to the session use Steam (for Closed friend session). If you don't use Steam, press Home on your keyboard, add your bf to your Social Club friends list, then when you get to the Social Club overlay, you should see him online. Click the arrow next to his name and there will be an option "Invite to game". Must admit, they did put an effort to hide this very well. Anyway if you have problems with this, let me know and I'll take some screenshots of how it looks. -He can actually very easily start a new char and do the tut, because the money you have online in your bank is shared between all your GTA Online characters. -The tutorial is really not that long, besides you can skip the bullsh*t Last Team Standing part. -If you get annoyed by those invites (they're not spam, they're just from players that you've met before and the game auto-invites you), you can turn the notification off in your phone's settings (where you can also change ringtone and theme). If this doesn't help, please tell me what I didn't manage to explain. Also this reminds me I should make a section on how to invite friends, since this whole Steam + Social Club doesn't seem to be working out very well. So here I'm starting this partially pointless topic, asking you first of all. Should I actually write this guide Yes! Write the guide Broseph. I've not yet set foot in MP. The problem with this is that it turns off all notifications even in sp. It really baffles me why they did not allow us to turn off invites from other players.
