The closest looking racecar in game?

not counting the cars with race car vinyl I think it is the Grotti Turismo R. Another friend debates the Grotti Cheetah is and another friend says its either the Vapid Bullet or the Overflod Entity XF. What is your opinion? Is it a car you see in this list? If not what is it? Im trying to help a friend make a little video skit and he believes it's important to get it looking as racecarish as possible?

edit - pro racing not street car racing (like can be placed on a professional track and not look out of place).

Several of the sports cars have GT style body kit options. To add to the Elegy, the Coquette, Comet, Jester and Massacro all have GT style kits you can buy. The Feltzer is a little fantasy/DTM-esque when modded.

The Cheetah, Turismo, and Entity don't look like race cars at all really (to people who actually watch racing anyway) given that we haven't had any super cars in racing really since GTS/GT1 died, and none of them really have any racing style modifications. As for the the Bullet... Well we did have a GT2 version of it more recently, but in-game you can't buy any spoilers/splitters/roll cages/etc for it, so you can't really make it look like a race car.

A "race car" isn't just a pointy car or a car that looks fast, and there's a big difference between having a spoiler and having functional aero.

All honestly op, I've been to the track many times, and youll see average looking cars. If you want the most "looking" modified racing car, it's the jester. Without decals of course.

I think the Buffalo MKII is able to pull of a NASCAR look, especially if we could put a racing livery/sponsor decals on it.

But quite a few of these cars in the game are/would be raced in the real world at one level or another. For instance the Blista (I might have the name wrong) kind of looks like the Ford Escort, which is used in rally racing. During the 95-96 BTCC series Volvo won back to back with a station wagon (850R). The styling for NASCAR's are based on vehicles like the Dodge Charger, Toyota Camry, and Chevy Impala.

I enjoyed this post. Also I'm hating what Nascar is doing to that sport. I wish it went back to "stock" car racing but that's another debate.

Personally I'm not a big fan of lap races. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy racing them in games, but as a spectator I find it boring. I'm a huge fan of Rally racing. To me that is the purest form of racing that takes the most amount of skill.

However, I am impressed with what the old NASCAR engines could do. Taking a carb'd, push rodded, V8 up to 10K RPM's and having it push ~200mph is pretty impressive.

The Entity with the right paint job can resemble one of the old Group C racers from the 80s and 90s, but overall I'd say the coquette with the full GT style visual mods and a race yellow paint job looks quite a bit like its modern day Corvette C7R counterpart.

Just some of my race cars

others include

Sentinel XS with splitters and spoiler makes a decent M3 GTS

Dominator. With carbon hood rear louvers and carbon spoiler makes a nice Ford Mustang GTR

Elegy. Can make a GTR race car

Comet. Can make a 911 GT3 RS

I'm not a huge Nascar fan but oddly I play their games (figure that out) and I agree the rpms they get out of them v8s is amazing. I'm a fan of any kind of racing.
