PC version server locations?

Does anyone know how the system works (given that PC players arn't paying a subscription) and where the servers are physically located? I ask because every PC server I get I seem to have high ping, guessing around 300 or so which is what I typically get on a north american server in other games (I'm located in Australia). This makes everyone warp around and become immune to bullets at times.

 

I played GTAO on xbox 360 before this and had no such problems, which suggests there are servers in Australia for that version at least.

 

Also is there any way to actually see our ping ingame?

Matchmaking based in us. Actual gameplay is peer to peer. Host

I'm wondering the same thing. can people on the west coast play people on the east coast, or can xbox and pc players play together etc?

Yes people can play with each other, no matter where they are.

 

No people can not play with each other if they are on a different platform.
