A few simple questions about GTA Online

Hi all,

 

I've recently picked up the game with my brother and a friend and we're having a blast playing online, but there are a few things I was hoping to get some help with:

 

1) We play in invite-only (load times are much better), and sometimes feel like playing survival mode. The problem is when I try and start a mission via the map (selecting a survival and then start job) it takes me to a lobby with other people when all I want to do is host and invite them. we get around this by starting another mission, beating that, and choosing refresh in the next mission select screen hoping to see a survival mission pop up. Not very effective... how can i start/host a job in this case so it will just be us 3?

 

2) Pet peeve: Is there a way to set the radio to always be a specific station when entering a new job? What about when entering a car?

 

3) When playing survival I've had a few times where my keyboard became unresponsive and I couldn't move - I was still able to shoot and aim with the mouse though but naturally I died pretty quickly. Sometimes it would let me move normally after 10-15 seconds. Has anyone else had this issue? I suppose it could be related to my keyboard but I have fresh batteries.

 

4) Is there any reason to deposit money in the bank?

 

5) When mid-air in cars, how do I flip forward/backwards? Is it the same as leaning forward/back on a bike (LShift and LCtrl)? If so maybe I just need more practice - having a hard time aligning myself.

 

6) For vehicle upgrades, does winning a race with any class count towards unlocking all classes or do I need to win per class?

1) It's all about luck. When you enter a specific job, any specific job, the game will try to put you into an existing lobby already, now if there isn't any then it will create one where you're the host. There is no such option to skip that and be the host out of nowhere

3) I don't know, I'm about the controller life.

 

4) Players can send muggers after you and they'll steal cash you don't have banked

 

5) No idea how to do it with the keyboard

 

6) On the 360 winning races with super class would unlock upgrades for all classes, not sure if works on PC.

Host the job from the Online Options menu, and close your matchmaking in the same menu, now you can invite friends from list

 

Cant imagine playing GTA with a mouse and keyboard, another PC master race huh?

i'm not exactly sure, but i thought op wanted to clarify if he had glitchy keyboard or something, not to be called a mustard rays.

 

op, in all fairness though, it seems that keyboard controls are bugged, and also it feels like there's more input lag compared to a controller.

1) when you join a job using the map, this is effectively joining a "quick-job" which will put you into someone else's game if there's one available, or start your own if not. If you want to start your own job with your own lobby, press start, go to online, jobs, rockstar created... and start it from there!

 

2) There is somewhere on the settings you can set your favourite radio station, this works for when you enter your personal vehicle. However if you steal a car from the street it depends what they're listening to when you steal the car!

 

3) Not sure about the issue with your keyboard... i have had times in game where i just can't move, but couldn't pin point the exact cause - blame the game lag

 

4) no real need to deposit your cash in the bank... you don't lose much when you die and you said you play in invite only... Be watchful of players spawn killing you online, your money can go down quickly if you die lots.

6) When the game was first released, if you completed Sports car races this unlocked the upgrades for all other classes... not sure if this is still the same!

4) You lose a little money if you die - pretty sure that doesn't happen to banked cash.

 

6) Yes. Race upgrades "class" doesn't mean class as in sports/super/motorbike/compact... it means class as in land/air/sea.
