When I wanna grief innocent players, public sessions (obviously).

Attitudes like that are to blame for the majority of people not wanting to help others with Heists or any other mission. They may be playing in Freemode but that isn't an invitation to constantly kill them for no reason. Sure, they could use Passive Mode, but they'd just get called p*****s if they did. It's just one of those scenarios where they can't win no matter what they do.

I'm fine if they go into passive mode. It's a clear indicator that they don't wish to fight. I'm just moving on.

I'm only there to call someone a pussy in passive mode if:

  1. X has been rampaging players (in a tank or jet for instance) and when you finally take him down, he goes into passive, only to acquire a new deadly vehicle in safety to continue his rampage.
  2. X has been killed by me and goes into passive mode. That's fine, but it ain't fine too suddenly reappear minutes later and get shot down as revenge by X. Then shoot him and he goes into passive mode again, only to repeat the cycle.

I never play public sessions. Only invite only with friends or by myself. I'm not all that into their kill everyone on sight mentality many public players have.

I log on in invite only, then depending of the mood i'll stay or go open lobby, so what I think of those guys? I think they're the best of course...

I have always played in invite only sessions most of the time.

I started playing there when I was low level to avoid griefers and haven´t played in public sessions until I was level 30.I continued playing mostly in invite only, but sometimes I would go to public just to check things out or try to meet other players. When I heard about hackers putting some strange big objects in players garages around half a year ago I stopped going to public and have never gone there since (except when game starts me there after switching characters, but even then I just go back to invite only).

I like playing in invite only mostly for two reasons, first being that it´s similar to the classic singleplayer gameplay of older GTA games but with my own custom made characters, and second because I don´t have to deal with griefers, hackers, squeakers and other similar crap.

I don't have much of an opinion on these type of players. Have many friends, new and old, that spend most of their time in non public session. Sometimes they're by themselves, some have a few friends in there. I can understand having a handful, or two, of friends doing god knows what but I don't understand how some friends remain in a non public lobby by themselves for the majority.

I, personally, like the interaction of online multiplayer as opposed to a lonely world of routine mechanics. I actually have a rule when buying a new game...rule being, I can't play the online version unless I have played through the storymode version of the game. I have this rule because I know there's no looking back once I join online.

All this doesn't mean I don't use Non Public Sessions. You can surely find me in a Non Public Session right after every new DLC, or a friend invited me, or a friend asked me to start one.

I'm there to play the game. Not attempt to meet and greet some virtual nobodies. There are a ton of places irl and websites online to meet and greet people. Real people. Seems like the one's using a virtual avatar to "meet" others are the true scared individuals.

I also NEVER played a previous GTA where I thought, "gee wouldn't it be nice to have other random nobodies to harass." That's sociopathy and being a virtual try-hard warrior from sucking irl. I always wanted a 2nd player option to go around wreacking havoc (AGAINST the GAME) with me.

Use your excuses for sh*t-talking about IO/friends/crew etc. It's all you've got. You're no better for being in a "public" lobby in a VIRTUAL place.

LBC 😎

Can you please stop using Sociopathy as an insult or an excuse to discriminate people? Every two other posts of you I see one where you try and act superior to others. Can't you realize your posts are hate fuel and many times they start an argument? Is it that hard for you to stop? Is your ego that small that you need to pat yourself in the back constantly? Or is it so big that you are a deluded narcissist with a God complex psychopath? Oh, yes. See how horrible it feels to be called something like that?

Now please, cut the crap.

It depends on whether or not I want to be blown up by a child in a helicopter within 30 seconds, if I don't feel like spending my night respawning then I sometimes go in a closed session.

In the beginning I would play in public but now I just avoid it and if I go public I just sit in my apt waiting for an invite to a heist or mission. I just got in the habit of selling cars or just messing around with customizing things that tryiong to do those in public were just a hassle. Even now no matter what apt I spawn at I almost always here rocket explosions or insurgent machine gun fire. My PV is parked outside my apt and destroyed half the time before I can even get to my apt door to leave.

on PS3/Xbox One and PS4 I rarely played missions with anyone because it took so long for anyone to join, and then half the time they would be trolls or just suck.

PC I'm playing with a lot more people during missions, though.

I've always played deathmatches and races though so it's not like I was completely solo.

:^: You have stated very, very well the key points on both sides. I would have written it the same way, and I agree with everything you said, except that when I hear (here on the GTAV Forum) about modders coming in to public sessions and doing crazy stuff, that actually attracts me to these sessions to see what's going on, usually crazy new fun, and possibly some free cash.

Since I am not a reflexive killing tool like most of the GTA0 population seems to be, I don't go getting pwned by trying to fight the modders, but I watch and appreciate the entertainment, and they have never caused me any problem.

The day I started online I was lucky enough to grab a Gauntlet in the craziness of having a room full of 1st to 10th level guys. I was on Social Club and had the Special Edition so I had a nice Shotgun when a couple of guys came a calling and got set back a couple of rounds.

I drove all the way to the store at the top of the map. I went in and was buying my first cloths and wondering when everything would unlock when I heard someone shooting up my Gauntlet. I ran out and gave chase and was literally right on top of them. They drove down a side street and I was thinking whatever. That is until the car exploded.

I've tried really hard to stay in regular lobbies but I've never made friends there and I enjoy being able to put my car in the shop without being blasted or blown up, squeekers, loud idiots, and I remember the days of grieving tanks in the streets. So lobbies have done nothing but suck me into fights when I could be making money in missions, deathmatchs, and races.

That's the reality too. If I spend time playing I have and will make tons of friends. It's been totally worth playing to find mature and regular players instead of free roam warriors. I feel that sometimes I've actually changed some people's experience for the better and it's made a very enjoyable game. Let's be honest, I don't know too many people who would rather go to a game and hang out in the lobby versus going on the field and playing with the players.

That concept is somehow inverse to people who play and I don't have to agree with you. I'd rather be a player than a casual observer feeding the R* cash card machine. I have to say that I've squeezed blood from a turnip in this messed up glitchy game and had an enjoyable experience. An experience I wouldn't have if I was sitting on the sidelines.

So if you want to meet me get in the Jobs and hopefully you can represent.

each to their own. personally i spend as little time in Public Sessions as possible. i prefer co-op / PvE gameplay.

something we like to do online is "the 5 star lap". basically we meet in town (often at the LSPD HQ), achieve a 5 star wanted level then try to do a lap of the island with the finish line been at Del Perro. this type of thing just wouldn't work in Public, too may kids, too many c*nts.

Seems like fun, might try that some day.

I go on them because there is no lag, it is a smooth as a whistle. I play on them for the clean gameplay and my internet seems to cope better on them.

Yeah, because you're the poster boy for productivity...

Take a long hard look at your posts before you call anyone a half-wit. If you're not making yourself look like a collossal asshat 98% of the time, you're forcing your asinine opinions on people.

Try posting something productive for once, instead of spewing the same verbal diarrhoea.

So I see a lot of people here saying "go to invite only if you can't handle", but what is your opinion about players who just play on Invite Only and avoid online interaction in an online game? Are you one of them, or were you one of them?

I dont interact with them. I guess I'm not invited. But if they cut down on the whiniest posts ever here, then I'm all for it.

But honestly, it's an online game. Not sure what the point is if you're not interacting with other people.

In GTA0, people don't interact with people; weapons interact with people.

And that's the root of the problem. :bored:

My opinion on them is well that's the way they play lol I don't have much to add. But me personally I always play in an actual online session cause I always love talking to other people but that's just me. :)

I just did an invite only session to sell some cars and save some new outfits. While I can easily do that in a public session there's always that one person that wants to try and start something. And somtime I'm not in the mood to play kill tag with some person on there while I'm trying to get something's done. I don't think private / solo session users are scared of the game as many for some odd reason say, they just probably don't want to be bothered with someone playing Los Santos terrorist.

Invite only session players? Don't know many as I don't get invited. It's the griefers that say "go invite/solo" as a retort to not wanting to deal with being blown up by a hydra every 10 seconds who are the real assholes. I prefer public lobbies because maybe then I can meet new people who are not griefers, needle in a haystack and all but it's easier to get heists done if you have a larger pool of competent contacts to choose from.

As for the side aspect of multiplayer gaming being for people who lack social skills overall I think someone is in denial about being a successful extrovert if they spend a lot of time in a virtual world being a hard-ass "gangsta" then just as much time backing up that virtual lifestyle on an internet forum. Not that his words warranted any emotional triggering.

I avoid public lobbies but I like doing activities with other players.

Playing alone 100% of the time Online would be silly IMO.

Main reason to go invite only.... Pull out the garage in eclipse before I can even hit gas get blown up by a sticky. Rethink about being in a public session....reason two the amount of lag... So sticky troll just blew your car up so you get back by eclipse and engage in a shot out but the game is lagging so much that after you put two clips into what you think is the sticky troll just to realize he is somehow behind you...again make you rethink joining public lobbies
