What is your opinion about Invite Only/Solo players?

Why I play on Invite-Only/Solo:

1.Faster loading times

2.I don't have to deal with annoying players/hackers etc.

3.Grinding for money

How to the f*ck am I supposed to have an opinion about people whom I never met?

They probably want to progress through the game and go about their day without being interupted by a rampaging 10 year old squeek with a microphone every 2 seconds.

I'm speculating that maybe not all people want to waste their time on mindlessly shooting others for no gain and at no risk of losing items. That's not real PVP. More like a griefing ground.

I play both, with people when I want my cars to blown, muggers stealing my money, players who kill me after honking me, insurgents everywhere, jets, anmunation has closed and so... Invite only when I want to actually play missions.

Depends on my mood.

I totally like making online interaction just by meeting our avatars.

However, I don't like the overly long loading that may end up giving me failure screen or a room full of chaos which either lags the game, disturb my game, or disconnect me due to the overflowing mayhem. That's why I'm Invite Only guy.

I'm looking for a chill time when playing the game and what I said above are just time wasting and extra frustration.

I tend to stick to invite only, since it loads faster and I can sell cars to the LSC, and other routine things. Then jump into races, or try to anyway.

Personally I never really cared for online games. I prefer to do my socializing in real life and play single player games like GTAV when I want to chill at home and have some fun. The only reason I started playing GTAO is because I got bored with single player and it seemed like many cool new additions were made for online. I also prefer the apartment system online, compared to SP, with big garages of vehicles that don't randomly disappear or get impounded. The insurance system and mechanic delivering your cars is also nice, compared to SP.

I guess what I'm saying is I play GTAO as an extension of the single player game, rather than as a way to socialize with people online, as if I don't get enough of that already.

I'm there to play the game. Not attempt to meet and greet some virtual nobodies. There are a ton of places irl and websites online to meet and greet people. Real people. Seems like the one's using a virtual avatar to "meet" others are the true scared individuals.

I also NEVER played a previous GTA where I thought, "gee wouldn't it be nice to have other random nobodies to harass." That's sociopathy and being a virtual try-hard warrior from sucking irl. I always wanted a 2nd player option to go around wreacking havoc (AGAINST the GAME) with me.

Use your excuses for sh*t-talking about IO/friends/crew etc. It's all you've got. You're no better for being in a "public" lobby in a VIRTUAL place.

Why does it matter?

Depending on my mood I sometimes just get on friend only so my friends can join and no one else. If I am getting on for a bit to sell a car and get back offline but I goto open free roams when I get bored. I think it just depends on the person.

I start and spend most time in private lobbies with friends or even solo.

Public is just a pointless sh*tstorm, and passive on last gen isn't capable of keeping me from having to deal with idiots.

I have never had a peaceful encounter in a Public session - always, always greeted with hostility. Since every encounter with randoms is violent, there's no point being in the same session with randoms, so closed sessions is where I've lived since 2013.

Life in Los Santos is pretty sweet without 29 sociopaths forever screaming for your blood.

I'm mostly crew/invite only. The reason I play this game is for fun. Most times I try public lobbies I get randoms in brightly coloured sports cars with white wall tyres driving up to me and shooting or sticky bombing me... I don't see that as fun.

R* should have given us the ability to host our own public lobbies in which we could set our own rules, more people would use them then.

I went invite only for a while on last gen to avoid the modders.

You're only solo in FM, joining a mission/DM/race puts you with others if you go open.

I've been back to public since next gen and boy did I forget what I was missing, love it.

Anyway OT, my opinion on Inv Only players is they cant be arsed with the grief between heists/missions etc. They're not doing no harm and most likely aren't complete loners.

Whenever I want to do heists or mission sprees I/we start up an invite or friend only session because it drastically cuts down the loading times. They're pretty much instantanious then.

This, especially with some of the connection/NAT issues i've had in the past on Xbox One. For me it just seems to run way more stable in an invite only session.

Personally that's all I really play GTA online for i.e. missions, heists etc so I rarely play in a public lobby these days.

Public lobbies are full of assholes. I do my best to avoid said assholes.

Most posters here forget Invite only doesn't mean playing solo, but with friends rather than randoms. Already had nice sessions in those, plus they come in handy when collecting gang cars or messing around without annoyance..

I play invite only or closed friend sessions like 99% of the time when I'm online.

I don't play games often nowadays and when I do, I'd rather without the BS you can see in public lobbies.

That, and it's nice to an entire world to yourself and to your select friends.

It's odd - Invite only / solo gets really boring really quickly, yet I can do without some of the BS that comes with public Free Roam.

Unless i'm using Invite Only to collect gang cars, new clothes and snapmatics I don't usually bother with it - I don't know enough people who play GTAO to make a decent lobby.

For all the bitching and moaning, I kinda like the risk of a spontaneous attack in FR on occasion - a good gunfight across rooftops or through the sewers is fun when i'm in the mood (and when people don't just spam stickies from the safety of their bulletproof Super).

Mostly solo play these days - too many griefing nutters out there. Only go into a multiplayer session to complete daily objectives.

Invite only. I get thrown in a public lobby after a setup mission. I do go passive before a heist.

I live in Tinsel / Eclipse. Get out and you are stepping into a warzone. I am too busy making money. I have no appetite in the senseless everlasting freeroam deathmatch. Even when passive, the noobshooters try to pep up their KD with a cheap shoot.

There's a lot of generalisation and complete uninformed assumption on this thread...

Not everyone who plays in Invite Only/Closed Crew sessions are playing by themselves; I very rarely join public servers for a plethora of reasons; mainly because it DRASTICALLY cuts down loading times when entering and between missions/deathmatches/heists etc, aswell as the preference for playing with crew mates in our own servers rather than joining a public lobby where 60%+ of the players are pre-teen squeakers hell bent on shooting everything that moves.

As for the "You're hiding in private lobbies" comments; hardly. Me and mine will, on occasion jump into public servers for the expressed purpose of joining in on the slaughter; working together to annoy/aggravate said squeakers/greifers/trolls, which I admit can be fun. With that said however, we're not under any illusion; if we're aiming to get sh*t done, and spend our time productively, it's either an invite only/closed crew sessions.

Public lobbies are, and always will be nothing but war zones; anyone who genuinely thinks otherwise is completely deluded. What it boils down to at the end of the day though is preference; people are free to play the game how they want.

Can you please stop using Sociopathy as an insult or an excuse to discriminate people? Every two other posts of you I see one where you try and act superior to others. Can't you realize your posts are hate fuel and many times they start an argument? Is it that hard for you to stop? Is your ego that small that you need to pat yourself in the back constantly? Or is it so big that you are a deluded narcissist with a God complex psychopath? Oh, yes. See how horrible it feels to be called something like that?

Now please, cut the crap.

Aye, I don't think I've ever seen him post anything productive either. He's a classic case of 'my way or the highway' so trying to offer a legitimate counter argument to an idiot like this is a futile endeavor at best. I wouldn't waste my breath personally, it's like trying to get blood out of a stone...

Ye, I know. I don't usually get into arguments online, just ignore people so close-minded. But it's annoying to go into nice threads and see them ruined by ONE comment full of poison similar to those this dude makes.

each to their own. personally i spend as little time in Public Sessions as possible. i prefer co-op / PvE gameplay.

something we like to do online is "the 5 star lap". basically we meet in town (often at the LSPD HQ), achieve a 5 star wanted level then try to do a lap of the island with the finish line been at Del Perro. this type of thing just wouldn't work in Public, too may kids, too many c*nts.

When I wanna mind my own business, I play solo sessions.

When I wanna grief innocent players, public sessions (obviously).
