What is your opinion about Invite Only/Solo players?

So I see a lot of people here saying "go to invite only if you can't handle", but what is your opinion about players who just play on Invite Only and avoid online interaction in an online game? Are you one of them, or were you one of them?

How would I know? I can't meet them.

They are here in this forum making awful threads, like this one.

lol

I both. About 75-25 public-solo.

Sometimes you just want to get those gang cars and shop around before starting up some missions. Sometimes you feel like griefing or dare I say just being nice and messing around in public

everybody has a preference but at the same time, it is an online experience where you are connected to the world...of course you wil come across pricks but you will also meet people and make friends - who make the experience more fun, you will find out new things and learn more, even in losing

try puplic lobbies once in a while, try passive if you are that scared....

but remember no1 really cares about KD and your player will ALWAYS respawn

Whenever I want to do heists or mission sprees I/we start up an invite or friend only session because it drastically cuts down the loading times. They're pretty much instantanious then.

Last two posts sum up all there is to say!

Plus it's normal if you want to check a new car or buy clothes to be in an invite session or even just hang around with your friends/crew.. But as Cool said Public lobbies are fun and provide a lot of info with the interaction you get from random players..

depends

if they only use it to jobhop i think they cant handle the game proper

if they use invite only for a specific audience in the lobby. who am i to judge :p

If i dont have work, i always start the day with a Invite Only sess. I do some missions, loading time is practicaly zero... also get some dailys done, and if i'm tired of that sess, ill go toa public one.

How is invite only avoiding interaction??? You still play missions, heists, races, survivals, etc... with other players...and they all load / unload faster from invite only

If I need to modify some cars at LSC I'm certainly not gonna do that in a public freeroam lobby

I normally go online by selecting Closed friend session, even if i have no friends online, I go thru my normal routine of selling a car at LSC, exporting one to Simeon, stock up on Armour, snacks ect...

Then head into public online, I try to listen the people in the lobby, when i hear kids ages 8 to around 16, i pretty much know this lobby is going to be a war zone, i will then switch sessions hoping to find a lobby of players, who for the most part respect others

The GTA0 online environment, consisting of millions of players, was created almost overnight when GTA0 went live in October 2013. One might think that this would have been a basis for a massive new social infrastructure, but ironically, this amazing new online environment consists only of two kinds of utterly anti-social players:

1. Players who stay in Invite Only sessions, to avoid the huge number of players of the second antisocial type:

2. Players who get off on killing every other player in the lobby.

Crazy as it is, GTA0 provides almost no mechanism for these millions of players be social, so they are all anti-social. Online design FAIL.

I do Closed Friend Sessions only.

My preferred freeroam activities really do not benefit from the possibility of my immediate surroundings turning into an all-out warzone. If freeroam was mainly about doing fun stuff together instead of a permanent deathmatch for no reason but imaginary penisses, ahem, personal k/d ratios that is, I would be willing to try public lobbies, but with things being as they are playing in public freeroam would be as stupid as hanging out in a country bar and complaining every time when they play a song by Neil Diamond or Johnny Cash.

If we are friends because I know you from missions, heists or just a friendly forum conversation you are welcome to join me when I go offroad trucking or motorbiking, or maybe you have some ideas for interesting activities of your own. But if the game dumps me in one of those dreadfully sluggish public sessions with insane load times and lags - 3 seconds or more for a costume change, really? - I will immediately switch back to a more private session type.

Absolutely. Encouraging players to work against each other for achievements and unlocks while giving them no incentive whatsoever to cooperate in freeroam and eschewing text chat in favour of voice chat where most of the time you do not know who said what and after a while do not even care anymore because everything you know is that you clearly do not like that guy who can not shut the f*ck up... yeah, that is a design that brings out the worst (anti-)social behaviour in people.

I go invite only when I plan on spamming Heists. I'm never thrown in the same lobby as the Hosts anyways...... and it saves me from being murdered once we're in FR again due to Passive being a dick and turning off at some point(Like always *sigh*)

And the load times are instant, not stuck loading for 5 mins like sometimes

online is more fun than single player so when I am in the mood to play by myself I usually launch a closed session, same with when me and my friends are doing heists etc so we all have speedy load times
I would say I am about 50-50 split for private and open sessions

My opinion is that they are allowed to play their game however they choose. I don't get why the way in which other people play their games is such an issue.

As others have said Invite/Friend/Crew sessions load significantly faster than a public lobby with players

already in it so that's the way I play the game, everything is much much quicker to do and if you need people

for heists or sports events there is always someone willing to join from the invite options/friends list..

The only time you see me in public lobbies is if the game decides that's what I'm going to or there's an event

weekend and Special Crate drops are around.

Invite only/closed sessions are also a really good way to avoid playing with glitchers and hackers. You'll have nobody to blame but yourself if you invite such people into your session.

You don't get no poll if you use homophobic slurs.

Did you also know that f*aggots can be just a bunch of sticks? It's not my fault you get triggered so easily.

What I'm trying to say is that the word can be used in a non-homophobic tone, but whatever not going to dispute over that.

I play in public because I don't really have many friends to play with and I'm praying I get some decent fun interactions.

If I wanted to play GTA V single player, I'd probably play... y'know, the single player that came with the game.

Not much of an opinion. I sometimes like to play without some asshat charging me with his Zentorno to sticky bomb me for no reason.

I play solo most of the time, It's the fastest non glitch way to make those $$$$ & missions on solo remove the chance of failure by randoms dramatically. I got sick of doing missions only for some random to F**k it up or play silly games. At least on Solo if anything goes wrong it's down to me plus I don't have to worry about being mugged or blown to kingdom come by a irate player in a Zerethro. Usually play an hour or so to make $100,000 then jump into the main lobby for some fun, get in a fire fight, do some races, blow up some cars, look for rare cars ect..

I nearly always play in an invite only or crew lobby, there's usually a group of us helping each other with the daily challenges and running missions together, it's quite civilised.

I play both.

Sometimes I feel like playing solo, just doing my own thing.

Sometimes I like playing with others.

Whatever makes you happy, play it in that way.

Everyone is free to play the game the way they want BUT I wish people would stop trying to push their preferences on to others. Like if I have/had a problem you'll get that stupid Invite only /thread crap. Sorry I like meeting new people. So it's just eh to me.
