Steam GTA V April 17th - Worked fine then Texture Pop-ins

I dl'd GTAV which I guess was already updated to April 17th's update, played with people- had a semi okay experience until GTA Online went down for me but not other friends-

So today I play and the textures of roads and buildings are popping in left and right, flashing when loaded (Sometimes, it clears up after I stop driving per say for 30sec-1min)

I even updated to new NVidia graphics drivers for GTAV just released and they didn't help, it appears my hard drive is culprit but why didn't it happen first day? I also don't see the drive hitting over 50% usage in task manager it's a dedicated 4,200rpm drive for GTAV lol?

The only thing I can think it is was Defraggler, or bad hard drive- or! does GTAV really need an SSD?

i5 3GHZ

8GB Memory

GTX650Ti SC
Windows 10 on 7200 rpm drive
Swap & GTAV on separate 5400rpm hard drive with no other utilization (Swap isn't really used ever-)

you shouldn't put your swap file on the same drive as your games, that will eat up bandwidth.

 

If you're listening to Self FM, that is known to cause this problem, if not, it may be trouble with your hard drive

I have interesting news

So originally I opened GTAV today loaded it up, it performed great as usual but then had texture pop ins (Any youtube video shows how it is) Everybody with SSD, HDD, faster cpu, 2x the memory of mine, faster GPU, etc had these issues...

So I reset everything... I will note that I kept noticing bugs with the settings (most likely related to geforce experience, which I've never been too happy with- the GTX650Ti SC is a nice card but maybe ever so slightly limited by my i5 3.0GHZ 4 core and the Graphics card 2GB VRAM is halfed memory bus vs GTX660 it seems nvidia doesn't give you decent settings ever.

 

After resetting all I mostly have

// Current Settings working great w/Streaming

 

DirectX 10.1

VSync on

All set to normal or off except

 

2x AF

Ambient Occlusion (Geforce experience says to have this off and 16x AF, and FXAA not MSAA is ambient occlusion cpu or gpu dependent?)

Post FX Normal

Soft Shadows Sharp

So far it's been extremely stable

I did set HIGH PRIORITY prior to the above changes, and it made a difference when I made original post- but the textures still popped in and I was just super curious- around after making my post I read how 50/50 seem to have this. I originally didn't on April 17th.

The texture popins must be due to delayed process, as this game is multithreded?

Originally also thought it was hard drive due to music causing lag (today only) however often had it off, then I turned it on had more lag. Now music works fine, etc

I'll try to dig deeper whether it's the hard drive IO or CPU
