TouchAhIrish
Laptop Temperatures Hey all I wanted to start a discussion about what temperatures are good for a laptop under the average gaming load. Chime in with your experiences and what you think is a good average temp. How hot is too hot? What temps are safe enough to overclock? Gaming on a laptop? Post your specs and temps here! My specs/temps! My temps were recorded at idle and while playing GTA V Asus ROG g750CPU: i7 4700HQ @3.4GHz - Idle: 35-40 Gaming: 65-75 (Celsius) [Too hot?]GPU: GTX 860M Idle: 35-40 Gaming: 55-70 (Celsius) [Too hot?]RAM: 8GBSSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GBHDD: 1TB 7200RPMDisplay(s): 1080p 17.5" Asus Laptop Display & 1080p 23" HP 3D Monitor Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/787408-good-laptop-temps-cpugpu-while-gaming/ Share on other sites

Gramps
My wife's Toshiba gets really really hot, and she doesn't even use it for gaming (except for Facebook games). I even stuck an extra 2GB stick in there, and it gets really hot to the touch. You can get a laptop cooling tray to sit underneath, and they are very cheap; and help out quite a bit. I haven't measured the temps as such on her laptop, but its no longer hot to the touch with the cooling tray. Hope this helps somewhat.
