Rakium
I can't get constant 60FPS with or without Vsync because it dips to the 40's and then it comes back to 50 and then to 55 and 45 and so on. Okay so, these are my specs: i5 3470 3.20GHz 8GB RAM R9 290X My settings are a mix of high and very high, i do have grass on high, shadows on high and I'm not using MSAA. PD: I do have the lastest AMD drivers and also I did a clean driver uninstall and then installed them again, but i'm still getting the same performance, PLEASE HELP. BigBadMF
You have a similar setup to mine, except you have a quad-core Intel vs my 8-core AMD, and are getting similar framerates. You want more? You will have to buy a better vid card, and possibly some more ram. Do you have an SSD for your boot drive? That helps a LOT. I don't get constant 60fps, but also the framerates on my machine sometimes climb up into the 70s. As long as you are getting smooth play and no crashes or other weirdness, I think for now that is as good as you will get. Eventually after GTA IV came out, there were so many ways to optimize the game it was ridiculous. Even if you do not upgrade your hardware, within 6 months to a year you will be able run it at higher settings just from all the hacks people are going to come up with for GTA V to optimize the game even more. RisingRedWolf
Firstly, turn grass down. For some reason grass has a HUGE performance cost so even if it's just temporarily until there are bug fixes, try turning it down. Secondly, after the game is loaded, try alt+tabbing out to desktop and back in again, for some reason, doing this increases my performance by about 15-25fps. I'm not sure if it will work for you guys too, but it's worth a try.
