Should I get GTA 5 on PC or Xbox One?

Hey everyone! I've been having a lot of trouble deciding whether I should get GTA 5 for PC or for my Xbox One. I have a $1000 PC and I really want to play it on there, but none of my friends have a gaming PC. All of my friends have it for Xbox One though, so I feel like I should get it on there. The problem is, I JUST built my PC and I want to build a library of games I can play on it and if I get it for Xbox One, I'm going to be spending all of my time on Xbox, not my brand new computer. I really just don't know what to do, that's why I'm asking you guys. Please reply to this thread and also vote on the topic poll I'm posting with this. Thanks guys!

If you only have friends on Xbox buy it there, GTA Online is nothing without friends, plus the differences to the PC version aren't huge. Then you can always get it for PC aswell on a holiday sale on Steam later on.

Judging from the GTA 5 PC forum, the PC version has ... issues. Presumably these will eventually get ironed out with the release of patches. The PC version is arguably the best version to get though, due to the potential for modding. If you haven't yet purchased a copy, that's likely to be the better choice.

Buy it for Xbox One, so you can play online with your friends. There are other great games out there you can buy for your PC.

Everyone who didn't transfer their characters to the pc are noobs in freemode or completely useless in missions unless those people are your friends in which case that goes both ways. Anyway buy it to which has most of your friends on. I made the way to pc just because of the different settings and new people.

The PC version of this game is a box of chocolates, you just don't know what you'll get out of it.

People are having the most crazy issues in the most un-consistent way. While some get the game with no problems other face a lot of them. So you might want to take that in consideration if you'll get the PC version.

I hate to condone this sort of thing, but if you settle on getting it on PC try to do a test drive on the game first by illicit ways if you know what I mean, get a feel for the game and see if you won't have any issues before buying.

If you see it's too much of a headache then just get on XB1.

I thought PC users were going to start being able to play with Xbox one owners. Or was that just a rumour?

OP. Answer to your question is a very simple one.

Get it on Xbox one first, play with friends.

Wait for steam sale when the game is $10 with hundreds of crazy mods.

I've got it both on pc and ps4, 2 groups of friends so my time is divided 50/50 between the 2.

The difference between pc and current gen consoles isn't "that" great. You'll notice it but it's still fun either way.

Since it`s out on the PC now, AND if you have a decent PC then screw your friends. You can add all kinds of cool mods that people will make in a flash. Make sure that your PC can run it at 60FPS though, otherwise get the console version. All things aside, if the frame rate sucks you won`t play that game very long before it gets to feel nauseating.

Honestly, the game gets so boring so quickly on the consoles that I wouldn`t recommend getting it on one. I say that even though I only play on consoles. The mods should add a whole new level of excitement over time.

Lmao, people would rather have a game look slightly better and play with randoms. Lonely asses.

Geralt of Rivia

Depends on if you plan to play Online and what your PC specs are.

Years ago there was a lot of cheaters, mod users and car spawners playing GTA IV on PC online. Online on PS3 and Xbox was more fair and peaceful. Same things awaits GTA V Online, i think.

whats yo PC spec?

Yeah it really boils down to that....if you have a boss PC...get it for pc. But if you have a regular computer that's not optimize for the framerate then get it on console.

As they said before, buying it for PC is like a dessert box, you just don't know how good/bad would look in your PC. It's normal in PC games. Every PC have a different CPU, Video Card, Ram, Screen or the mix of these items, which means that the game will behave and look different in every PC. The fact that the PC game looks better than PS4/XONE it's not true at all since if you don't have a 4K screen and a good computer for it, the game would look the same or even worse than in Current gen consoles. if you buy it for PS4/Xbox One you are ensured that the game will look similar to your friend's one.

Here's where your thoughts make an appearence: If your goal is to play the game with friends and you don't care THAT much about graphics (remember that R* will eventually downgrade the game graphics when a new DLC appears to ensure the smooth gameplay of it) then go to the XONE version. If you want good graphics without playing online with your friends and you have a good PC to play it, go for that version.

Personally, I have the PS4 version which looks awesome in a 55inch 1080p screen. I'm sure that a 4K resolution would look stunning but.. at least is good for me.

What are your PC specs? '$1000 PC' doesn't help with any decision making.

Get it for PC and show your friends how good GTA 5 look at 60 fps. Then they'll buy PCs too and you can all play together. Problem solved. :)
