dxivilea
Can't seem to get anything good that fits into 2GBs, even with textures on normal. I can get it on very high to look good, but then I can't get good image quality, which ruins the graphics. I have to go over the limit to get a good looking game AND a good image, but that makes it stutter and act weird at times which ruins the gaming experience. What settings do you people with 2GB cards use? I have an Sc 760, which doesn't seem to be to stressed about the game. CPU seems to be bottlenecking (fx 8320) and game runs even worse when I OC it to 4GHz lmao.
stretchx9
The memory bar in graphic settings is purely a hypothetical indicator and is no way accurate in real time. Mine is always red and reading in the 2300-2700 range yet MSI Afterburner always reports 1.8-1.9gigs being used with maybe 120mb overhead. GTA5 uses a lot of cpu, make sure your bios settings are for performance. For instance I have a FX8350, GTX760 and run DSR with a game resolution of 1440p with texture quality very high, MSAA off, FXAA off, population variety full, PostFX high TESS very high The result is like 4k played at 1080p native resolution. Just leave everything in advance graphics turned off. I have played many hours thrashing the hell out of this card and never had memory swapping slowdowns. You should consider frame rates before worrying about running out of Vmem. Just forget that stupid bar, turn your eye candy up until frame rates drop to 38-40. I get immersed in gameplay and rarely notice image quality. Edited April 21, 2015 by stretchx9 thinkingbear
EddieLTU
i have a GTX 750 Ti and i maxed out everything except AA and texture quality is set to high if i didn't had huge cpu bottleneck, i would have stable framerates with 720p
Candy_Licker
I have a 760 (2gb VRam) too, with 8bg Ram and i7 4770. I have textures ony very high, am 500 mb over the limit and have 50-70 fps. Grass detail and AA are performance killers, if you don't crank them up too much, your card will be fine, unless CPU/Ram is bottlenecking you of course. Miyo
I'm reading a lot of posts indicating that a lot of people are having fps issues and/or micro stuttering. I don't really understand why I do not have any problems, my computer is far from the best. I had a friend quite a while ago optimize my PC and the person who built it obviously knew what they were doing as I literally never have problems.. in any game. Anyway, I'm using a 2GB card.. GTX 680 SC (super-clocked). i7 990X extreme edition (old but still one of the best). 12GB corsair vengeance 1600 I have everything on high-very high.. including GRASS. And it says in the menu its using 1377/2000 ram.... (I mean in the settings within the game). So why does it for so many say that you are using more? I have constant 60+ fps and no fps lag or micro stuttering and the graphics are insanely good. (Coming from BF4 etc player, I'm used to good graphics, this game surpasses that). A friend of mine (same friend), say that people need to "optimize" their PCs, he doesnt mean overclocking.. he means within the BIOS and other deeper down settings - which in return, makes a huge difference. Oh and a side note - my card never goes above 62 degrees and my CPU never above 45 degrees (corsair H60 liquid cooling, not the best but it obviously works wonders for me). Using cooler master HAF X full tower with 4 large fans (the really big ones). Love this game!
GRINCH ASS BITCH
What is your card's bus width? That's just as important as your overall amount of VRAM.
cdgl
turn down pedestrian variety and set textures to high ghea
