A disappointment for me with GTAV / Online is that San Andreas is technically an island state; all the previous GTA's were states that 'appeared' connected to the rest of the United States.

Connected how?

GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City and GTA III were all on islands, well GTA III actually had a mountain on one of the islands that was non-climbable.

I did say appeared / technically - the previous GTA's just seem connected from their sources, GTA III - NYC, Vice City - Dade County, GTA SA - California

How were SA, VC and LC more connected in previous versions? Give examples!

3D era Liberty City actually had a tunnel in Shore Side Vale that continued through the mountains The tunnel was closed so you couldn't go through it and was there simply to make Liberty City appear as if it was connected to the mainland.

Vice City and San Andreas didn't have this in any way whatsoever so I have no idea what he is talking about with those two.

No you didn't. You just mentioned that it had a mountain, not that there was an actual tunnel that lead out of town.

That's the main thing that gives the illusion that it is connected to a greater world and not just another island.

I would pay for map expansion.

But I really doubt it would make it. I think it'll be like the Carcer City from GTA3.

Oh yea....that tunnel, with a depth of three-four feet really gave the impression of leading somewhere... You seem to remember wrong, the tunnel didnt lead to a mountain, the tunnel was in the mountain and could not be entrerable. Hence it was the mountain that sealed off that part of the map.

Not to mention the airports that REALLY gave the impression that the cities were connected to the outside world...yeah...really.

Ludendorff, the aircraft carrier, and the yacht should all be brought to online FreeRoam.

Sounds boring

Even if they are capable to add it to the current map somehow(they apperantly arent even able to fix wall breaches) i rather have them just adding smaller yet still not to tiny islands(big enough so there are multiple spawnpoints at it but i dont expect it to be even 1/10th of the main island when talking about size.

I mean you guys arent realy original or thinking about it

I can just imagen a big facility with enterable interiors the size of the humane labs, oil platforms, an island full with trees and an island in the form of a weed leaf with an appartment on it that you can buy , then some docks ,a helipad on the roof you can get up by taking some stairs and some enterable huts at the beach...as a nod to dubai...

seriously...you guys need some imagenation

f*ck that city and its dull landdcape

Drive to Airport, enter one of the gates. Menu Screen shows up with available destinations. Each one takes you to completely different map. The current lobby gets a message saying JOEBLOGGxx just departed to Liberty City.

If Carlsberg made Grand Theft Auto games.....

I wouldn't say no to more environments and considering how many people wanted the snow to return in 2014 I don't think i'd be the only one.

Just an observation... There are a lot of roads here, even on a small map. As I recall, you can't stray too far from the mission objectives in single player, so why bother making all these other roads if people can never travel on them?

I can go all Fargo on other players if we have the snowy midwest in game as well. Wood-chipper add on please, R* ;)

the tunnel simply looped under the mountan back to shoreside vale. If you played GTA LCS the tunnel was fully functional

As for all the roads in NY most have no hit collision only the area where story takes place. Thus why you fail missions. NY would be fun imo. The city is so boring. Hell liberty city in IV was more interesting imo. Los santos is such a boring city. I much prefer paleto bay and sandy shores and the city outskirts

I remember wrong, yet you think the tunnel only had a depth of 4 feet...

And how does an airport connect it to the world? You don't even seem to understand what I'm talking about. A literal connection to the mainland, guy. The thing that gives Liberty City the appearance of not just being islands in the middle of the ocean. That is what the rest of the 3D era games quit caring about.

Seriously, just be quiet while the grown folks talk next time instead of trying to be a smart ass.

Ludendorff, the aircraft carrier, and the yacht should all be brought to online FreeRoam.

The aircraft carrier should be added to free roam and only have hydras on it. The player would have to steal it just like from Zancudo, either coming in by boat or helicopter. And voila, that would give players a reason to use boats/jetskis in free roam!

I dont know what you played GTA III on but I played it on PS2 and the tunnel was not enterable at all but maybe 2-3 feet in.

In lack of arguments you are pulling the age card with me? Seriously? I'm older than you, rest assured of that. And no, age does not matter in this case.

Yes that and many more land masses. Including San Fierro, Las Venturas, Vice City, and Liberty City.

...I never said it was enter able. My whole point was that the tunnel was specifically closed. It's point was to be immersive and make it appear that there was a road out of liberty city and into the rest of the world.

Apparently I mistook what you meant with the tunnel only being 4 feet as you meaning the appearance and not how far you could go in. (Iirc you couldn't enter it at all)

but even then you still manage to miss the point. I don't know why you're bothering to cry about arguments when there is nothing to argue about. There is a mountain which you said, then when someone asked for more connections I talked about the tunnel.

Yes. Plus the aircraft carrier and the the hatch. I would never join a job if this happened.

But I think this will be modded into the pc version of the game since rockstar doesn't want to put it into the game.

I WANT MY BOXVILLE BACK TOO ROCKSTAR, THAT THING WAS MY BABY!

Almost makes me tear up looking at these again, I went through hell and back to get that LSDS boxville, the only one that was glitched into MP was the the water and power version, somehow I was able to do a glitch to change the liveries on the boxville and it set it back to stock with the lsds logo, man I cant even explain the feeling that I had when driving that thing around, so much fun... Then the beach bum update ruined everything w/the blacklist, miss those early months where any and everything was possible...
