Craigsters
thread title should of read The games on screen tutorials are useless it was cut short by the site I'll be buying a Primas strategy guide on the 30th when I next get paid for sure This is why i need a book, I just tried a flying competition and the on screen tutorial was useless with telling you how to stir the plane and what buttons to take off or land, it was the Stunt Plane Time Trials using the Mallard plane!.. I flew a luxury jet with no issues, but the Mallard plane was to hard to control, flappers on the tail end to control to change stirring etc The tutorials don't stick in the brief menu and are overwritten or buried by useless text dialogue or in game dialogue of story lines!.. Owe I downloaded the Rockstar exe manual but it had no screen shots of the Xbox 360 controller for windows in it's guide!.. Edited April 19, 2015 by Craigsters "You don't understand! Craigsters
I was just stating the obvious and not knocking Rockstar games, they are a much better gaming company then the others, which I wont mention, not wanting to debate on that!.. The tutorial's are not done to good is all I'm saying!.. "You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am." pg1313
If you played the main storyline (instead of diving head first into side-content), the second trevor mission tells you how to fly. There is also the flight school which is unlocked later into the game. Craigsters and Heists

The tutorial's are not done to good is all I'm saying!.. Yes, well, but it's actually easy to fly...Unless you have a very big screen you can read the screen prompts quickly. And if you cant read them on time, you can pause and check the "Brief" section, which shows all the recently displayed screen prompts. Owe that flight time trails should be delayed to show on map tell after the second trevor mission or flight school is completed then!.. Edited April 19, 2015 by Craigsters "You don't understand! Spaghetti Cat
Those damned flappers on the tail end! But yeah I gotta agree with OP. It's been like this for a couple of games. I know we want to jump right in and not have any hand-holding, but V especially jumps in pretty quick. The first mission is a firefight and running from the cops. Then Franklin's starts off with a race. My first play through I had a time because the driving physics had changed from the IV era. I liked a couple of the beginning missions from IV and SA, where they would show you how the game world operated and incorporated that into a mission. Cj riding the bike to start off is a good example. Allow people to come into the world and don't force them to quickly. Considering there is no real manual all the cues are onscreen. When your concentrating on a mission these hints can be missed. I've never really paused mid-mission to read what's up there, so a lot of times I miss it till the second go-around. Some of the controls, like turning on the headlights, are only really found by trial and error or reading the forums. R* should either put out a proper manual or do some more quick-and-easy missions from the beginning to help new players out. At least until they get their feet wet. Or maybe a skills test, like the shooting range in V or the driving school in SA, where you can practice outside of a mission. I had no problems with the hints at all. They were quite helpful.
