Craigsters Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Owe thread title had spoiler tags in it, but wouldn't post sorry I was flying around in a luxury small jet and flew near a big air force base a chopper shoot me down, I crawled out of the wreckage and found myself being shoot at with guys taken cover near jeeps on the base, I killed them got some awesome new carbine assault rifles and then found the tank and got in it and tried to take it to Franklin's house in Los Santos!.. The tank engine eventually caught fire, because I was shooting cars on the way home with it and fire tracks appeared in front of the tank and eventually the tank caught fire!. sparky66 Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Explosions and fire can still damage a tank. Too many explosions and this happens. Try to avoid blowing up vehicles next to it. I find it a lot easier to just buy one, you have unlimited money if you do the stock market trick. Tanks are nothing like how they used to be in III, VC, LCS, and VCS. The Big Green Tank in these 4 GTA Games was so much stronger than SA and V's Tank. However on PS3/360 with the Save Editor you can make the Tank, or any other Vehicle completely AP (All Proof; BP/DP/EP/FP; Bullet, Damage, Explosion, and Fireproof) and it won't get destroyed at all unless you drive it off a giant cliff and it lands "funny." Just like how any other Vehicle would behave in V when launched off of something if you don't land it properly. It's a buzz kill that you can't do what you could do in the 3D Era, so having the Save Editor is quite nice and comes in handy when you truly want to cause destruction in a Tank, or better yet, a Lazer... EDIT: Also make note that the Tank from Fort Zancudo is ACTUALLY STRONGER than the one you buy, but both of them are useless, basically... Usually some idiot cop drives into the back of it and bows everything up. It's a massive quarry truck, it should be able to take more damage than that. If anything, that makes it worse because in real life, a tank wouldn't blow up if it crushes a car. Face it, R* f*cked up royally with the Rhino. Cars shouldn't explode after getting crushed. It would also solve the issue of the tank blowing up. All I used to do was drive the Tank down the highway driving into cars which exploded. My Tank wouldn't slow down in the slightest, yet it somehow would catch fire and there WAS NO FIRE ON THE GROUND from the exploding car when I looked backward with the camera. I used to love driving of high building in IV and seeing how much of a mess the car ended up. On topic, the tanks crap. I used to do that too. Unfortunately now you can't crash freely due to the stupid exploding thing. On one hand where they should have increased the damage they decreased it but on the other hand they made it so a car explodes in one impact on the roof which doesn't even make sense.
