Is the marksman rifle ruining free aim?

I don't mind marksman at all. I can draw

a bead on players with a heavy sniper and get a headshot before they can even get me in crosshairs.

 

A great tip is changing your settings so you zoom sniper rifle with d-pad and still move with the stick. Slowly move side to side while gun fighting and this will give you a big advantage over most players.

Joined a free aim lobby and it seems the only weapon players use is the marksman rifle. Personally, I think it's for players who aren't good at sniping and helps unskilled players level the playing field.

I find it annoying having to zoom in with the d-pad. It's probably because I was used to it how it was on 360/PS3 so I still have it set to that setting.

The ONLY smart approach, in ANY game, is to use the best in class. You can goof around, but only if you understand you ARE goofing around and not using everything given to you to the best of its abilities. Just like Counter Strike AK and M4 + AWP are king, or BF4 the new gun, FAMAS and otherwise the ONLY 2 guns that made sense, Scar-H and Ace 52 CQB, or Ace 23 as a 3rd so in here some weapons will be better than others. It`s not a question of fair or unfair, it`s a question of why aren`t you using it since yesterday.

 

That is a good point, but the "best" is going to be different for different people. The heavy sniper is the best for some, the marksmen rifle for others.

 

Of course. But it is very stupid to complain against someone that is better with a different weapon, or that you can`t fight him. Not YOU you, just a way of speaking. Especially when there are so many options to use other factors, like cover, cars, positioning, distance, etc.

 

 

I think we're all discussing the actual weapon and how/why it is used, not whether someone is better than us or not.

If it wasn't the Marksman Rifle it would be the Auto-Shotgun or the Minigun. So instead of complaining about how something is OP because some players found their preference weapon, try adapting to the situation where they can't use it on you.

 

Also, if it's such a big deal, get in a car an run them over. While that would be a problem in auto-aim lobbies for obvious reasons, if you are in free-aim lobbies, should be no big deal.

 

I don't see the logic in, "hurr I don't like it so it's not a good weapon". It's not your weapon. Use yours and let them use theirs.

I honestly have no idea what the f*ck u guys are talking about. NOBODY uses marksman rifle. Snipers are not an issue in this game at all.

 

You guys never heard of taking cover? Or flanking them?

It's for people who need a fast fire rate to compensate for their lack of ability to be precise within the first few shot attempts while working with the reload time. I could never call someone a sniper when the marksman rifle is their "sniper" rifle of choice. Snipers don't spam their trigger a million times in a row while strafing. They just don't.

 

 

The real action in Free aim is close range.

 

 

Only people who play sniper wars have sniper problems.

 

The marksmens range is not as long at the other sniper rifles. So in this case, you can either get closer or get further.. OR just stop being sniper fodder.

 

 

There's no such thing as a sniper problem if you're a smart sniper.

Im not assuming you're sniper fodder.. Im just saying.. If players are owning you or anyone else with a Marksmen or any sniper rifle then that player is either sniper fodder or playing sniper wars.

 

I myself spent 99% of time in free aim free roam.. On a street bike. Which means, getting sniped is never, ever an issue for me. Its only an issue for people on foot at long to mid range. Which, since i don't do combat on foot unless its at really close range. Snipers = Laughable for me.

Why do you "feel" this way?

It's a weapon that takes little skill to use, it does far too much damage and has too much ammo in one clip which means you can spray and pray with it almost. It renders the ordinary and heavy sniper useless.

LOL chalk this one up to "if it killed me, it can't be because of my playstyle, it's op."

When people run away so they can keep at a distance just to use it then it says it all.

It really does ruin Free Aim sessions. Cheap noobs roam around, wearing bulletproof helmets, spamming their Marksman Rifles and claiming to be skilled. Free Mode battles used to be fun.

Neither the assault shotgun or the minigun are on the level of the marksman rifle. The assault shotgun is limited to close range and often takes multiple shots to kill, for me at least. The minigun is also pretty limited in range, plus it has no zoom, and you move very slowly while using it. People who use the marksman rifle will go into first person because of the faster movement speed, and will wiggle side to side while spamming it. People are purposely running away from enemies in order to keep using the weapon because it's all they can get kills with.

 

The idea of "if not this, then that" is a weak minded argument to prevent something from being nerfed. "This gun is far more powerful than any other weapon in the game, but if we nerf it, there'll just be something else that takes its place." That may be somewhat true, but that next weapon will be closer in performance to other weapons. If they did in fact nerf the marksman rifle, what weapon would people choose next that would be even remotely similar in performance to the marksman rifle?

The way most use it, spray and pray, I find it pretty damn funny that it's called the marksman.
