Fendron
Specs: i5 750 @ 2.67GHz GTX 960 2GB 4GB ram I get 20 fps in this game on the lowest settings, on higher settings I get the same fps. I found out my cpu usage was 100% while my gpu usage was 20%. I know that my cpu isn't the best, but it should be able to run because its better than the minimum required cpu. Can someone please help me? Thanks
Plutia
install more RAM... 4 gb is very low for this game, that CPU is also very weak, upgrade it... you're bottlenecking all over the place, RAM is the biggest issue though, go 8 gb. disturbed325
Yes you need more RAM, remember that windows uses about 2GB usually.
Fendron
Alright, I just bought more RAM, should deliver tomorrow. I also cleaned my heatsink, it had a thick layer of dust, which boosted my fps to 40-60. Another problem is a lot of stuttering, I keep dropping fps for a sec and then its returning to normal. This could ofcourse also be the RAM issue.
RedDagger
Try increasing the priority of GTA V via the task manager to high, this is meant to help stuttering. Also, you could download Speccy to see the temperature of your CPU - if it's still high, then you could reapply thermal paste/add better cooling, which I think will improve performance somewhat. Spider-Vice
The CPU being 100% actually just answers why it's so slow as it's severely bottlenecking the GPU. However, I can't see how you could be getting a 100% CPU usage with that CPU, but it's probably due to its age. Fendron
The 100% cpu usage got solved with the cleaning of the heatsink. The temperature is still very high, but the cpu and gpu usage are good now and in balance. I'm gonna reapply the thermalpaste tomorrow and insert more RAM, hoping to get a flawless performance then. I'll let you know
