Video Memory for Max Settings?

Hi!

So I'm considering getting GTA V for PC. I want to run it at max settings, but I'm curious as to how much video memory is required to do so. I'm not entirely sure on how much video memory is needed to run GTA V at max settings. I think it's something like 4095 MB? Am I right or wrong?

Well you can look on some of gtaseriesvideos on youtube.

In their 4K 60 fps video they got specs

C SPECS:

Processor: Intel i7 5960x

Motherboard: EVGA x99 FTW

RAM: Corsair LPX 2600 MHZ 32 GB CL16

Graphic cards: Tri-SLI EVGA 980 Classified

Power supply: Cooler Master V1200 W 80+

Platinum

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

You do realize that it doesn't really work like that right? Many cards, after overclocking the VRAM can handle more inside the VRAM thanks to higher throughput.

Depends on the resolution I think, I have everything cranked to max on a 1028x1024 monitor and am only using 3.8GB VRAM.

I think 4k maxed needs about 5-6GB VRAM, so if you have a Titan X you should be fine, lmao

There is far more that goes into things that just VRAM. Theoretically, having 6 Gigs at half the speed of 4 Gigs would provide worse performance. Similarly, if your card is a 980, but it has 120 gigs of VRAM you probably won't be able to use all of it.

Ofc there's more to it then VRAM, I'm trying to keep it simple for the guy ;-;

Many things come into play, screen res, core clock speed, memory clock speed etc., but I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to read all of that lmao

8gigs to play at 4K Maxed out.

A single Titan X won't maintain an avaerage of 60fps. So you'll need to SLI it.

At this point in time, wait for the 980ti or get 2x 980s.

At 1080p Max, you're looking at 6gigs. A single 980 will handle it but still, better to wait for the 980ti since it's just around the corner.

Yeah, we should've just used something like ROP or similar.

Depending on your budget, and how much visual quality you want, a card with 2GB is "recommended" by Rockstar.

My stats are in my sig....I cannot run the texture quality at anything more than normal without it getting a bit antsy.

If you want the REAL HD, with almost constant steady 60 fps frame rate, and super-dooper visual eye-candy, I would go for at least a 3-4 GB VRAM card.

A 2 GB card is fine for me (and it is only what my budget will allow), as even though I cannot crank my texture quality to the max, it still looks a bazillion times better than any game I have ever seen.
