Does PC use Punkbuster or VAC?

Making the switch to the PC. Wondering if Rockstar is or will use PB or VAC to detect cheaters. Do they have their own system in place?

 

On the console Rockstar has relied on people being reported by others which is a joke. I don't play with others I don't know much, but in the occasional race I'd rather have someone modding or hacking stopped before I even get to race them. Snitches get stitches and whatnot.

While I don't know, something that is probably true:

 

When you buy a copy, it is tied to your Rockstar account. So banning likely would cost you the game unlike other platforms where you can just switch accounts.

they will probably use the same system they use in the consoles, which have proven to work, 99% cheat detection rate!

It's most likely like console bans if you are banned by your rig will be banned from joining online until that ban is up so you'll have to get a brand new PC to play the game just like with consoles as switching/making new accounts won't get you around the ban like it used too.

There is a cloud-based anti-cheat system, but it's only focused on money for obvious reasons.

It will be nice of R* to implement something in PC version, because it's going to be a disneyland for cheaters, but nothing will be done, probably until entire game will be unplayable.

I think the PC mentality is more of a 'can't beat em, so join em' kinda thing.

 

You should probably just download the God mode trainer before logging on just to be safe.

They stop people after the fact. It doesn't seem like they put in fixes to prevent or detect. You can only get banned if you get reported from what I've seen. There are still people with massive billions on the consoles. 1K ranks too and they've only done 6 races. Updating Punkbuster was annoying because sometimes it would wait until you signed online to say you needed to update, but it worked. I know some would get around PB, but they played in servers with others doing the same.

 

One would think with the cloud it would be easy to detect something if such a program was implemented. For instance, the God Mode Trainer.

 

I'm going to wait a couple months before purchasing. If it is a sloppy mess I may pass on the game.

Lil` programme that installs itself onto your lil` PC and acts as the Lil` Big Brother. Think Steam or Origin, only less memory intensive, but with the same results - global ban list to any server / game that has it. And 99% of any sane multiplayer person dude plays only on "secure" servers.

lol Im going to laugh when you make a thread saying how R* are money grubbers because you got banned and then you have to make a new SC account and buy another copy of the game to get back online.

Why even cheat online?
Use mods in SP and enjoy it. Play legit in online and get paid. Glitches will come and go and thats where you can stockpile some money until the next glitch pops up
