Will this game ever work? :/

My friend and I tried out heists for the first time earlier this week. We got through the intro (2 player) one pretty well. Then after that, it kept crashing every time we tried to launch a prep job for the next heist (first 4 player one). We spent two whole hours just trying to start the jet plane job.

 

Roll onto two days ago and suddenly every time we try to join each other, we're getting this magic message, "Failed to join due to incompatible assets".

Well, I was referring to how everyone's answer to the assets thing seems to be "it's because you're trying to connect to players in Japan".

Have you or your friend disconnect from the internet under network settings, then connect again, you may both need to do it. That solved the incompatible asset problem for me

When I join invites things seem to go well and then boom. Kicked before the finale. Three of my friends on the PS3 have had the same issue. They confirmed that all players would get kicked.

 

I'm just staying away from heists until things get fixed.
