Howdy

Just wanted to make a general thread for this issue as I see lots of people posting this issue under different names/threads. So post here what you have tried.

System:

[email protected] 4.2ghz, 8 Gb Ram, MSI 970GTX 4G edition. and Rockstar Warehouse version of the game (non-steam)

Issue:

From Day one I have had this same issue, though the frequency is totally random, not one single thing I do can replicate this every time.

Anywhere between 5 mins and 45 mins approx (though on a couple of occasions I've had 1 hour+) The game will freeze, the audio will continue for about 1 minute, the game will then restart my two monitors and then one of two errors will occur

Either "ERR_GFX_D3D" error notification box

or

"Display Driver Stopped Responding nvlddmkm" notification in the taskbar

What I've Tried:

Reinstalling including installing patches and reinstalling patches from other sources,

Running in all windowed options.

Running in DX 10 mode

Disabling any overlays (shadowplay, fraps, steam, nvidia experience)

Disabled and installed any VPN software

Pretty much tried all the different GFX settings ingame

Setting prioritys for EXE and launcher.

please post your details below.

I have the same problem ERR_GFX_D3D_INT error that kills the game everytime. This is a hard fix, but I don't understand what's causing it. I tried many setting combinations, but to no luck. Just when I think I've solved it it crashes randomly. I've used the benchmark function as a troubleshoot over 50 times changing each setting and going back to see the results, but nothing but crash after crash. I knew I shouldn't of purchased this game early, but I did.... I have no other errors, but this. I purchased the physical copy no download. I'm fed up with pc games, I've been playing for 20 years and it's always the same with video games on pc are trash and there are to many setups and conflicts.GTA 1 was ok, GTA 2 was great, GTA 3 was ok, GTA SA was a glitch magnet, GTA 4 was somewhat better, but GTA 5 is DOA. They should of waited another year to get this right. It makes no sense to make a game with good graphics and extra eye candy if it cannot work correctly to even benefit it.

I've finally got it to work with these settings below in GTA 5 on the Nvidia Geforce Experience. I haven't had a ERR_GFX_D3D_INT error in about a hour of playing. I would try this and work your way up if you are getting this error.

Ive tried all settings, you may get a bit longer but eventually the game will crash, theres like 100 workarounds and none of them are a fix. Would be nice to get an update from rockstar though.
