Please help- Can't switch Characters/Start "Big One" PS4

Okay, so, I got to, what I believe to be, the last mission in the game "The Big One," which I think is the final heist. The night I got the phonecall to confirm this from Lester, I was way too tired to go on, so I waited for the game to save, switched the PS4 off, and knocked out.

 

The next time I switch on GTA V, it loads the game and I'm playing as Michael. I notice that I cannot switch characters (the down button the d-pad works really well). I found this frustrating, until I noticed that the "H" symbol wasn't on the map. The "H" that symbolises where you start the heist. So, I come to the conclusion that I need to wait for Lester to phone Michael to tell him that the heist is on. So I spend the next 10-20 minutes driving around, walking about, phoning Lester myself at one point, and all that great stuff. He hasn't phoned. I can't switch characters. I can't start "The Big One."

 

I even tried switching off the PS4 and reloading the game multiple times. I even gave it a few days, trying it a few times everyday (I end up mucking about on GTA Online).

 

Please. Tell me I can fix this.

The Big one is not the last mission--

 

I think the ability to switch characters is your primary concern right now-- I think fixing that will unstick the game.

 

See problem #9 in the pinned thread--- Hopefully this will help you (no promises)-- don't be afraid to try repeatedly if it does not work.

I do urge everyone to maintain multiple save files when you play the game-- you never know if one will get corrupt.

Try replaying the last mission - the mission before THE BIG ONE.

 

If you're lucky , Lester will call you after that mission.
