Can't Decide Which GTA To Get For PS3

Hey, I am looking to purchase a new game for my ps3, a GTA game, I already own GTA 4 on pc, but never really played much due to constant frame rate issues, though I did like the story and Niko as well as his Cousin Roman Belic, and I've always wanted to see it through to its conclusion. My friend gifted me GTA 5 last Saturday but my pc can't run the game. I saw that both the complete edition of GTA 4, and GTA 5 where on sale respectively, GTA 4 Complete for 20, GTA 5 for 30, which is honestly the better game in your opinion, character, humor, story line wise, game play etc? I currently have a order place don GTA 5, I've had it so since Tuesday and there yet to process it, so I really need to know before it it's too late. My biggest concern is traffic and pedestrian density, I've seen some game play and it seems GTA 5 is pretty empty in those regards.

I guess it´s a matter of taste. IV is more dark and gritty with a strong storyline, V is more cinematic and more light-hearted.

I´d say watch some gameplay on Youtube and then decide which one appeals more to you. But to be honest, if traffic and ped density is that important to you, I doubt playing on old hardware like the PS3 will satisfy you.

Do you happen to have either on ps3? I want to know how that traffic density plays out, also it matters to me because xD I want crazy car chases in which i go in and out of traffic ;3, like a rockstar.

I'd say get IV Complete Edition it's much better than V. But come on, boyh games cost peanuts on the PS3 at this point, surely you can afford both ?

Where I am in the UK, you can get IV+Complete Edition for £10 and V for £15.

I am a college student with a very low budget for spending on non necessities, so something like a game is far in between, I got a budget of 40 to work with max.

Yes, I played both on PS3 and 360. All I can say that the ped/traffic density of both games is much better on PC or in V´s case also on PS4/Xbox One. But it isn´t horrible on PS3/360...according to circumstances (old hardware) it´s still decent. It´s a matter of opinion, though.

As mentioned earlier, it´s a matter of taste which one you get. I´d say IV, but as a committed IV "fanboy" I´m not very objective. ;)

That's my problem GTA 1 clicked with me, GTA 3 Clicked with me, and the bit I played of GTA 4 clicked with me, the sound track in all 3 were perfect, the mood, and the story you felt like a bad ass 80's middleman for a mafia crime boss. Though I appreciated how open GTA San was I never liked the characters, the story I felt was a bit too extravagant, and idk I think even the environment was just too nice, as for the music it was just as good. I previewed the sound track for GTA 5 on you tube, and its just awful...I think theirs only like 5 tracks I am okay with and 1 that I actually like. Which of the two has the better cops, cause one of my fav things is stunting to get away from aggressive cops :D.

Definitely watch some gameplay for both. GTA V looks better if you're into that. It also has a much more 'sunny and lively' feel because, you know, it's not always dark and depressing with a filter.

GTA IV shines best with its DLC, which may or may not be an option for you. The physics are also great fun.

EDIT: GTA V's cops are much more aggressive and harder to get away from, to answer your question. Frustratingly so, sometimes.

Well do you guys think 30 dollars is a good price point for a new copy of GTA 5 on ps3 at the moment, vs GTA 4 Complete with LIberty City Stories, New for 20 dollars on the ps3? Oh and hows the game length? I heard theres like 40 missions less in V of core missions vs GTA 4's campaign and I really don't care too much for Multiplayer thats always more of a secondary thought.

Get V. It's more fun, and 100%ing it is easy if you know what to do. IV is a chore to 100%.

And the Strangers/Freaks missions are LOADS better than what IV had. Especially Trevor's ones with the old couple.

Plus Online is fun unlike IV's, loads of things to do f you're into that. Only drag is the grind to get $$$.

IV's good but get the Complete Edition if you're getting it at all.

You could easily get both on PS3 though for under 40.... if you look in the right places.

V is shorter, but has much better missions IMO. Much less boring and tedious ones than IV.

There's also checkpoints, so if you die after 5 minutes of driving in V, you won't have to do that 5 minutes of driving again, like in IV.

V also has things like planes, car and weapon customization, etc.

Like I said before, watching gameplay videos are gonna be your best bet.

IV completed edition beats V. It's got more and interesting stuff to do, you may even like the stories of the DLCs. But if it's just IV and V then go for V, if you like big open spaces and planes. There's no planes in IV, keep that in mind. There's no countryside either. V is much bigger, has more vehicles, more space for chases(which you may or may not like, because cops in V are tough), better graphics of course and much more entertaining missions. However if you like realism and grittiness then go for IV.

Then again, a DLC will be coming out for V, who knows, it might be pretty good. If you can wait, wait till the DLC for V comes, then make your choice.

Well like I said, I am between getting GTA 4 Complete or Gta V, the other thing is my nets not so great, some games run fine online with my ps3 some lag, so for me Multiplayer would be a bonus thing not something that would factor into my choice making, its all about gameplay, variety, and missions :D.

This is a great answer right here.

GTA V is superior in every way, IV is tedious and boring but that's just my opinion.

Gonna get GTA 5 for now, Ill just pick up gta 4 next time. Plus I found out I can play it as soon as today, since they got a copy in my local target for the same asking price and I save the shipping.

anyone who recommends you gta iv is full of hate or nostalgia.

Some people really like GTA IV more than the average person and i'm one of those people, but i still know, that GTA V is the better game.

Don't over think it.
