if you're good on flying , you can just lure the jet to the windmills

or just tail them so pilot and the jet will be ended up circling around , unable attacking the pilot

Fly into sandy shores, demolition takes the first jet out.

Fly out of sandy shores, no other jets spawn.

Guarantee the Heists update adds a second Lazer to this mission. Rockstar hate us griefing the NPCs.

They need to do something tho. It's incredibly dull to play atm.

That whole finale could do with being taken back in for work tbh. It's in dire need of attention imo. The predictable spawns in the prison & the pilot are two of the worst things in ANY job in the game.

Do not take off until the clock hits around 3mins as pilot. By the time you fly there the prison crew has is ready to be picked up.

I read in this very forum about chasing the jet. I've never failed after that :D

And even if it is as you say (and it is) many people still have problems finishing the missions/heists...

I agree that the pilot has a pretty boring task (at least up until he has to pick everyone up and take off again), but I don't see the problem with the prison spawns. How are they any more predictable or any different really than the spawns in any other mission or heist? Pac Standard finale has similarly predictable spawns for the bank guards and police, at least until you get on the bikes, and even after that most of the roadblock locations are pre-set. Learning enemy spawn locations through repeated playthroughs is a GTA tradition. Not saying it's a good thing, I just don't see this as being uniquely problematic.

After the pilots takes off demolitions need to take out the police helicopters around the airfield. Also I was the pilot and I didn't land on the airstrip but away from it and we got clean away from the police quickly.

Follow the laser. When pick up time,Land outside the prison with demo providing air cover. Pick up yet mates. Finish the mission. Quite simple.

Probably why people have such a hard time.

Just see the map, keep in range, and tail them. It's super easy.

And demolition don't need to shoot.

Those Lazers are meant to give the demolition and the pilot a job while waiting. But it's damn boring and should just let us wander around killing peds instead.

I just fly around the vinewood sign til there's about 30 seconds left then fly over the hill before the timer runs out. Or you could just stay in the hanger til 2 mins left.

This way, I only need to avoid the jets for a few minutes as long as the prisoner and officer get round quickly enough.

People seem to be ignoring the tail the jets strategy - but seriously, it's the only strategy you need! I was doing this Heist with a guy on Demolitions who was, frankly, inept - the guys escaped the prison and asked me to meet them at Sandy Shores, I was waiting for the Demolitions guy to get in the Buzzard and take down the Lazer I'd been tailing for 10 minutes - but as soon as the guy finished up and got in to the Buzzard, the Lazer just dropped in to the sea! It's a fool proof strategy - and you won't even need the guy in the Buzzard - the Lazer will be gone as soon as the guys in the prison are done.

The Pilot's job is simple. What I want to know is if Demolitions can head on over to the prison and start shooting in some rockets to help the extraction team. I've heard that as soon as the buzzard invades the prison's airspace, it is shot down by magical RPGs.

Dont fly over the prison or they shoot you down.

Just go close enough and your buzzard can help extraction team to get out real fast.

Couldn't the pilot just hide from the jets missiles in the hanger at the desert airfield?

OMG! Its really NOT that hard to fly around and dodge missiles. If you're having that much trouble go to single player and do the flight school. Then go to Online do the flight school. Then go to the military base and steal a jet successfully. Then do it again, and again. Then take your jet and fly to the city and fly low where players can lock onto you, and then once they do fly in a loop. They'll lock on you again, then do another loop. They'll go for the third shot and when they do go for that loop.

Now once your in the heist make sure to fly high and loop around when the jets locked onto you. Just ignore the buzzard as most of the time they'll just bitch and tell you what to do but if you listen to them you'll die. You can really only work together (buzzard and plane) if you both have mics and are willing to work together.

Its really that simple.

when i control the buzzard i just help the ground team, because that´s more useful considering the pilot has an wack-easy job.

When I finished the heist on hard yesterday I was the demo man and the pilot was very bad. What I die is tell him to stay very close to sand shores and fly in circles around it. I was hovering in the middle of the city and just needed to press L1/R1 and lock on the jets. Then I made sure to mop up the police helis and the ground units while our pilot landed and dropped the helis following us. Felt badass! :)

You can steer the direction of the jet. As the jet appears turn towards the jet. Let the jet pass and get behind it. Now turn slowly to Zancudo AFB. Notice that the jet will follow suit.

I sent the jet in a clockwise circle around the Alamo sea, flying on the shoreline of the ocean. By the time the prisoners get out, you will be at the Humane Labs. As soon as the jet disappears, you are perfectly aligned for the Sandy Shores airfield.

As soon as you land open the door. When everybody is in, fly to the windfarm and beyond. Loose the helicopters on the ocean. As soon as you see a search cone from a helicopter, turn away. You may drop some altitude to gain airspeed.

As many have said, the trick is to tail the Lazer - doing that frees up Demolitions to provide air support to the prison team (don't cross that fence, tho!). More importantly, it means Demo is right next to the prison when the ground team moves out - thus the army of cops & choppers following them gets taken out before the pickup.

Technically this makes the Pilot's job dull, but if you want the mission done quickly the pilot has to be able to land where he wants, when he wants to. Freeing the Demo guy up facilitates this.

In other words, the Pilot's job is boring if it's done right. Screw it up and you'll have all the excitement you want.

What I found that works for me as pilot is to fly in circles around the Vinewood hills sign till I have about 30 seconds on the timer, that way the Demo and the Prison Break team have time to get in position. From there via mic (playing with randoms) I tend to coordinate with the Demo guy and bring the Lazers to him by flying in circles around the Buzzard while staying close to the Humane Labs and Ron Alternates Windfarm.

Up until I pick up the Prison Break team, my job is pretty simple, and the times I've played with randoms, the Demo guy also does a good job of keeping the Lazers in check.

From the Prison Team is out, I time it so I can land quickly into SSA and fly out since I've been setting myself up for the landing by sticking to the east side of the map.

However, once I have the Prison Team, I can never, ever seem to lose the wanted level. I'll fly low through the windmills, into the ocean, and still the cop helicopters will spawn everywhere. Even with the Demo guy shooting the cop helis. Fly high above the clouds, fly through the windmills again, circle around the Buzzard, and the wanted level stays intact :\

My friend and I are stuck because of this bug.

thats all you need to do lol, just tail the first one around til the ground team is ready to be picked up, that way the demo guy can hover near the prison, assisting the ground team.

I really don't know how you can fail at doing this. The best of it is jet pilot insulting you when you are too close.
