Redrez
i brought the game via Amazon.co.uk - had an email from Rockstar Social Club to say my email address had changed. It seems i'm not the only one... http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/security-software/jon-martindale/rockstar-social-club-accounts-may-have-been-compromised/
Sjippehoed
Hello, I have the same thing. The email adress was changed and the account language was changed into russian. When i open GTA5, the game asks for an activationcode witch is already activated on my account, but it isn't working anymore. I bought the game at Mediamarkt, so no cracks or other illegal stuff. Segment
Or just make a good password in the first place, they brute force crappy passwords, my pass consists of 15 letters, including numbers and lower and top case, you gonna crack that for about five years with any non government software. TL;DR don't make pass : pass123 Edited April 19, 2015 by Segment

Redrez
I know have 3 tickets open on Rockstar help site - The russian player who has taken my account over has now been playing GTA5 pc longer than I have! From looking through the help site it looks like 2400 accounts have been hacked over the past 4 days.

Redrez
Several users were hacked lately. The most frustrating point is how easy it was to hack my account and change the account details - i think it needs to be more secure i.e 2 step verification just like how Microsoft work when you change your password for windows/cloud account. GTA5 PC is great game though even though i only got a taster of it... SmackDaddy70
Redrez
still waiting on Rockstar support - if not resolved by Wesnesday I think i will visit Rockstar Leeds and see if they can help me...
Sjippehoed
I am also still waiting on the Rockstar support. This is not about a pirated version. This is a bougt game with an original activationcode.
j0nasx
Same problem here. Email address and password have been stolen (but i still have access to the profile page, thats very confusing). Celtic_Avenger
I have also had this problem. I bought my copy via Steam. All was fine for a couple of days (I'll forgive the 3 hour plus download and installation time) and then I received an e-mail from Rockstar saying my e-mail address had been changed and now I can no longer access the game. Ideally I would like to be able to log in to the account delete the link to my Steam account and then link it to one of my other e-mail accounts as I have my own internet domain registered. I have raised three tickets and not heard a word. Rockstar this is really good support when you pay the best part of £40 for a game and can't use it for reasons which are not of your doing. Other titles such as "Elite:Dangerous" do not inflict these problems on users.
MarshallRawR
There was a breach at Rockstar Games indeed. The official recommendation is to send a ticket to the support.

Segment
maybe this proves the Security of Social Club needs a lot of improvements ! Nothing is unbreachable. NSA servers would beg to differ. But then again, when you run a multi-billion dollar company and don't even have two step verification for your clients in age where you can control your entire house with a phone, you're just asking for it. Have a strong password and do not use the same one on all sites and you're good. I created a completely new email adress and social club account before I bought it. Have a strong password and do not use the same one on all sites and you're good. I created a completely new email adress and social club account before I bought it. I've been in Business IT for 20 years... the above has always ensured my password was almost certainly not going to get cracked. This does not mean that the server side will not be hacked.... Thus changing your password every two weeks is a good bet to avoid being hacked from that end.
