AgentLemon
I came from Xbox360 to PC and when I found out one of the new "features" of PC was denser traffic I knew it was going to be a bad thing and sure enough it is. It's not such a bad thing that there's more cars on the road, it brings a bit of life into the city BUT the AI of said traffic is vain poppingly frustrating. They speed up or slow down, turn erratically or just plain stop in the middle of the road for the sole purpose of screwing you over. Every intersection I pass a car either speeds up or slows down so I hit it, I have even had cars turn into me while passing them on the opposite side of the road, there's no logic to that. Riding my motorcycle has never been such a horrible experience. Another thing that seems to have been boosted is the police presence/ response, I understand given the very premise of the game that police are a necessity but jesus christ you can't do anything without getting a wanted level. I'm an online player and anyone who has played online in the lobbies know a LOT of the fun is to be had having gun battles with other players. This is brought to an instant halt the moment you let off the first 3 or so shots and have 15 police surrounding you with shotguns while trying to defend yourself from some crazed maniac with a desperate thirst for vengeance. What's worse is when you're running from this army of police while at the same time trying to strategically traverse clusters of erratic NPC commuters. I think until they can get the NPC AI down pat they need to lay off the traffic density thing, as nice as it looks to have a bunch of cars and life injected into the city i think for the sanctity of the gameplay form should follow function on this one. As for the cops, I would rather spend my time online playing other players rather than expelling endless amounts of overpriced ammunition into waves and waves of incessant NPC police. Other than those two things i think the jump from xbox360 to pc has been absolutely amazing. The game looks ridiculously good and the port itself is flawless. The wait was 100% worth it. ThunderBanana
Did you know you can adjust the traffic density yourself? There's a slider for it in the graphics settings. Also, interestingly enough, I had all of these problems with the AI drivers in IV (plus them actively changing lanes into you), but in V I haven't had a single problem driving, it's so much more enjoyable. I will agree on the cops though, it's kinda stupid that you can be way out in the sticks with no one around, and if you fire one shot, the cops start coming after you... This is supposed to be America dammit, not to mention the gun stores in this game sell miniguns, so what if I want to take pot shots out in the middle of nowhere...
