How far did you expect to get in GTAO?

When I first started playing, all I wanted was the Combat MG and an Elegy RH8 fully-modded to drive around in. Never thought I'd be almost 200 above the level required to get a combat MG...let alone have all the cars, weapons, and Pegasus vehicles I wanted. I figured at my peak I'd have 12-15 mil, but I now have almost $30M and there isn't really anything else I wanna buy that I haven't already. Figured it would take forever to get this far, but what surprised me was how quick I got here.

 

More importantly, I am wondering what keeps you playing, once you've surpassed all your goals by a long-shot. To be honest, I don't really care for this game much...but I don't have anything else I wanna play more in my down time. I hope I can do this well with my professional life, which will start soon, but will not be as fun...in the meantime, I guess I am happy just playing GTA and living a day at a time. What about you?

Didn't think I'd get to 100, much less mayor of Paleto Bay on a forums about GTA.

When I first started playing, all I wanted was to hit rank 47 so I could get a fully modded Carbine rifle. When I finally reached the desired rank I didn't know what to aim after. Then I realized reaching rank 100 could be pretty a fun achievement.

 

Now I'm in rank 169 on my primary character. Not much considered the amount of time I have actually been playing this game. I've always spend my time in freemode, and that's the gamemode that keeps me playing. Nothing better than killing the same poor fool over and over again.

lol my goal was to get level 100 so i wuld be higher than lamars bitchass, now im level 300, most rp coming from contact missions. 45m total career earnings, have had most cars in the game, fully modded and totally legit, have all pegasus vehicles that are worth a damn, have every gun in the game, have bought every article of clothing possible except for a few holiday items i wasnt around to buy.

 

i never really had a goal other than get level 100, i just like playing the game.

I wanted to be a millionaire, and at least be recognized.

 

Now? I'm CEO of a company that's getting beat up by another company, and I have ever reached a million dollars on hand/in bank at any point.

Reached 120 when billionaire days started. Got to buy everything i wanted. Then thought well this is the end of my play time with this game, i'll just focus on another game. Today im not that high rank 189 on my main didnt think..id keep playing. Waiting on the single player dlc and r* next title.

Well, rank 10 in GTA IV was a bit of an under achievment to me lol. (Forever remembering the grinding of Deal breaker and Hangman's Noose) so I told myself I'd never invest so much time again in any future GTA title, but then the hype got to me and I eventually broke my vows, now I am far above any expectation, must have been the weather...

I got to the end of the store robbery in the GTA0 tutorial, and then I got shot in the face by the guy who robbed the store with me. That's about as far as I expected to get.

Oh my God, beat it. It's just not funny... at all.

 

I bought GTA when it first came out. I played daily, for the most part, and I thought level 100 would take "forever." With the rate I was playing it shouldn't have been a surprise that I got to it quicker than I thought.

I expect to be able to show off my friends my cars and work with them in missions because I thought it'd be as awesome as how I've been playing GTA. Turned out I can't, because everything is draggy and requires me to spend more time than I should in that game. So I took chance of the available money glitch and fulfill my wishes without being greedy. However, by the time the most famous glitch happened, I was already bored with the game and had started buying price-down games from PSN.

Still need about another 20. million.

 

Been playing since launch just not everyday. Own no planes or boats yet.

Same here. I only started online because I wanted to reach rank 100 so I could get the Platinum trophy. Hoped it had something to do with the jetpack lol Now I have a rank 492 and a 187 haha

I was an achievement hunter when I first got this game, so I wanted to get to level 100. I sold the game early on when online was awful. I purchased it again last October thinking Heists would be out soon. I got to 100 pretty quick. I don't enjoy the game the same way I did a few months ago, but I still love it. I've never enjoyed playing a game more than this one, that's for sure.

What keeps me playing is mostly 2 things:

 

1) playing with my crew mates, although that doesn't happen as much as I'd like

2) squeaker tears

My original goal was a fully modded Elegy and the most expensive apt. Think it took a week or two.

Next goal was to hit the rank to unlock all guns/clothes etc.

Next goal was to do it all again on a second char.

After that X-mas came early with being gifted millions by a stranger. Blew it all. Kinda ruined my goal setting though.

 

Now my goals are just unlock new stuff added through DLC, own what cars I want regardless of how sh*t other people think they are and have fun.
