Having difficulty downloading gta 5. PLZ HELP!

So this is really confusing to me, especially since i dont know so much about computers. So far I have download GTA 5 PC from steam. Im up to the part where you sign up for rockstar social club. I entered my information, it just stopped right after the rockstar social club sign up. So I stopped the process thinking I could just start over, but no. I press the launcher and it takes me straight to the rockstar social club sign up screen. It says it is loading like it should. This is where Im at a loss. The screen just becomes a white page with the the cover of the game and the border of the social club screen. So I need desperate help!!!!!! My computer is an ASUS gaming laptop that runs windows 8.1 with a NVIDIA GEFORCE 840m and an intel core i7. I would appreciate ANY solution to try. Try to be basic with the steps for I am not familiar with programs or ways to fix things so you will have to guide me with the best description possible. Thank you! (P.S.- I look at forums and they tell people to check your PlayGTA.exe yet i go into the steam folder and i do not see a file that is named like that.)
