idle players much?

Anyone else see this quite often in missions? I try not to play missions with randoms as much as possible but sometimes friends aren't online.

It's frustrating as all hell to join a lobby (on call) and be put in a mission with low levels doing hard difficulty. The two low levels were keeping up with me but this jackass that was level 55 or so just stands by his car. 1 low level died(there goes our 1 life) I killed 20+ enemies and started leaving in the vehicle... then being by myself got ganged up on and gunned down. My fault for trying to be Rambo but when you die and can't respawn and just look as the idle guy at his car relaxing one becomes angry lol.

End mini rant but damn, I thought idle players were rampant in destiny, it's just as bad here.

What I got out of this, never do a long/ difficult mission where you are carrying the team. I haven't played all the missions yet and still try to finish the ones I know I havent. This mission makes my blood boil and the name escapes me. It's for Simeon to steal the 2 smuggler' boats... Maybe some day......

I am always looking for good people to play missions with, if you play on xbox one or xbox 360 add me as a friend. gamer tag is FMJ1973. Just put guy from gta post so I know its you. I will never quit or idle in a mission. I am level 70 on xbox one and 96 on the 360.

Quick solution my friend, buy an armoured kuruma & AP pistol - 90% of contact missions are cake. Regardless if you have team help or not.

I only play the multi player missions with randumbs anymore, Landing Gear, Method in the madness, etc....

even these are easy to complete solo. especially if you've unlocked the Buzzard

There used to be an unwritten rule back when a lot of us were grinding Coveted that you could go AFK for that mission as long as you were back by the voting screen.

Good chance to make a sandwich or have a smoke and still make $18K

but that was back when it was mostly the grown ups playing, now the kiddies will run you over and get all p*ssed off if you go AFK for a smoke! :wtf:

If it's a mission, I vote to kick. No free money for you.

If it's a heist, I grin and bear it, unless they have a particular job that requires everyone to wait for the team. In that case, I buy popcorn and get front row seats to watch the rest of the team run the AFKer over, or watch them blow themselves up with grenades to fail the heist.

Have both actually, can't take the Kuruma in the ocean.

Regardless, I've learned my lesson, thanks for the input people.

Just leave. If everyone leaves the mooches by themselves they will eventually stop

Well I personally take exception to that. I am a newbie/low level and have done missions/heists with more experienced players who have just sat idle and let me do all the work and really have made me look like a pro at the game.

I do missions/heists with my friends and husband on hard and have not sat idle and have contributed to the mission/heist and most times not died. Not all of us low levels are bad players who make the more experienced players do all the work.

I hate it when you join a heist or mission and it is with more experienced players and they kick you from the mission because you are only a low level player that warrants having their cars blown up!

Don't feel bad kaitey, I've been kicked from lobbies as well and I just hit rank 90. Either way idle players suck. If you are gonna spend the time to join a mission, just f*cking do it.

I've been playing since launch and there has never been a rule like that, Only you think there is.

If you're idle for more than 2 minutes i'm kicking you out no if ands or butt you shouldn't join a job unless you are ready to play go have your smoke before you play and you wonder why people get pissed off...

Why should we do everything while you get to get the reward while doing nothing?

Notice I said "grown-ups" , meaning those of us old enough to realize that you don't need help to do the mission and your pay out is the same.... :panic:

If your post are any indication you are about 5 years from being a "Grown Up"

It's called playing with others, If you want to play alone that's fine but the point of playing online is to play with others, If i wanted to play by myself i'd play Story Mode

Why an AP Pistol and not a SMG?

AP pistol provides more damage than the SMG does but depends on the mission where you have to shoot someone out of a car i'll use the SMG as the AP will blow the car up really fast

I didn't feel bad, I blew their cars up haha.

I agree though idle players do suck. If you are going to play, just play. But I guess there are people out there that just want the cash and want others to do the work for them.

My considered view is if you see someone idling, they have probably been called away from their console for some reason or other. Why would you elect to join an activity and just stand there? The Game is about having fun playing it,not watching others.

Right, you could simply back out knowing you are not gonna help/ contribute much. Some people are dicks though and expect to be carried through missions and reap the rewards.

I've encountered less of these idle som bitches and have had a few nights blasting through missions without any hiccups, me not having completed every mission knows now to just back out and get another lobby if one of the more challenging ones come my way.

Ya, the guy who is just standing there is a Dick? But the DB running him over, setting his car on fire is "just playing the game.....

I might understand this mentality if your payout was based on a share of the earnings, but you get the same payout regardless of what other players do

and you shouldn't need the help to complete any mission.

It's a childish attitude based on the mantra of every 12 year old "That's not Fair"!!

When I need a 10 minute break, I join a Bus heist setup, get in my apartment and chill. Free money, 4 people just get in the way in the mission and at least they got it started sooner rather than having to wait for a real 4th player :santa: And if they blow up the bus or fail, well nothing lost.

One person here claimed they blew up someones car. Have you been idle and had people run you over and or destroy your PV? I don't have time to sit there and grief or even watch for 5 minutes if someone is gonna move. I gave someone the benefit of the doubt on a mission I've never done before...

Learned from that mistake pretty quickly.

I got a phone call right at the beginning of Coveted, I was playing with 2 randumbs

I just stood at the top of the hill, they jumped in the Granger and tried to run me over, I jumped out of the way at the last minute and they ended up in the ravine

I went down the hill, got the Bob and picked up the crate

But before I delivered it I dropped it on the road and picked up their two vehicles parked there and dropped them in the ocean

Then I delivered the crate!!
