networkn
Hi. Anyone else feel that the physics of hitting stuff with cars in GTA5 feels "off"? Not sure how to describe it. It's just not as I'd expect. Edited April 16, 2015 by networkn
RussianFighter
I think that should answer your question. And before anyone kills me. I don't have a real problem with the physics. I got accustomed to them. But, hitting stuff, should not be like it's right now. Edited April 16, 2015 by MerolaC
networkn
Is there no way for them to fix it in a patch or DLC or player Mod? I mean it's truly terrible. I can't even imagine what it will be like once the cops start chasing me and I can't drive through barricades.
RussianFighter
Well, when OpenIV with editing options come, sure, we can mod it. For now, get used to it.
Bonaldo
Yeah, the cold hard truth is that Rockstar totally f*cked up car physics and damage system compared to GTA IV Instead of improving them, they made a huge step backwards
CarnageRacing00
I think that should answer your question. And before anyone kills me. I don't have a real problem with the physics. I got accustomed to them. But, hitting stuff, should not be like it's right now. For the record, I agree that the physics in V aren't quite right, BUT if you want to get technical... ...Trying to push other cars.. well, as soon as your tires start to spin, that car you're trying to push SHOULD be able to move you out of the way with ease. That's physics. Yeah yeah I know that's not why it's like that in GTA V, but technically speaking, once your own tires break traction, the vehicle WITH traction (sitting still) can move you with ease. That's how you win a tug of war, that's how you win a push of war - hold your brakes and let the other guy start spinning his tires, once he does, hit the gas and push him back. Vehicle weight does matter. BUT... GTA V's physics are wrong. player vehicles are way too light. They need to be heavier. Every player car should be just slightly less heavy than the Duke O Death, and it would feel about right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWy1esISdIM
networkn
I probaly don't agree with that actually. GTA4 was terrible the cars in it ruined the game for me, I didn't even finish it. GTA SA was the best GTA game by a country mile, god I loved that game. If there was an HD version of it, I'd play it again today. xXKomaXx
networkn
The other thing is that the cars going over jumps seem uncontrollable, I think it might improve as you get more levelled up, but boy it's hard work right now.
TheMostKnowledgable
It's not like that video on PC. Cars move when you hit them even with small cars. And cops behave like GTA IV, skid out in front of you, no rubberbanding (that I've yet seen, I'm a few missions into LS with Trevor now around). DustNB0nes
the damage system is clearly poor heavy hits and only some scratches and broken windows
ValidTrack
Wow, gta is midtown madness. I want to also add, when small bump comes, car actually takes off in ease. For example, need for speed, cars were heavy actually. Edited April 17, 2015 by happyc
