Do you think GTA may eventually go VR? (Virtual Reality) Headset?

So do you think it would be cool to have a whole new world where you can step onto the STREETS of places like Liberty City or Los Santos?

 

I think it is an interesting idea myself.....I just don't know how they would have you getting in and driving vehicles...I guess you would have a chair where you sat down? LOL!

 

Or running down the road...(running in place actually)

 

But the new Oculus VR headset seems like it could do this.

That`s what I`m talking about! Now if we all could have those walking 360` treadmills that`d be the icing on the cake. Also the field of view isn`t wide enough for VR yet, but the future`s looking good!

Eventually yeah, but not anytime soon. Even though III was revolutionary at the time, there were plenty of 3D games before that. I think R* has done a pretty good job of not jumping onto the latest fad. Let the VR experience get to a stable place, then yeah. But we're not going to have a VR GTA game for VI.

It's absolutely awesome!

 

The thing is that we need some sort of Force Feed Back(FFB) for games like GTA. Then we would have 3/5 senses covered, which IMHO is where games start to become immersive when using VR HMD's.

 

When the consumer versions of the HMD's are released and games start to support native HMD access I can see some people are going to have a tough time leaving places like Los Santos after they arrive.

 

Trying to find a way to get my g27 wheel to work with GTAV, that would be awesome.

I'm old school. I grew up on Donkey Kong and Frogger, so I am perfectly content relaxing on my sofa with a controller in hand, feet propped up, and a beer in reach. That's my virtual reality. If it ever got to that point though, I'd just go outside.

i had a few days with the oculus rift dk2 and i loved it.

 

first day: six hours straight with no issues. playing elite:dangerous and HL2

second day: forced stop after 15 minutes to prevent puking! (probably not calibrated perfectly)

third day: played for a longer time again, but the conditions never seemed as good as on day one.

 

the technology is on a very good way and i will probably buy the steam VR when its out.
but it might never be a standard thing that you want to wear every time. i can stay for hours in front of TVs, LEDs, Beamers, but this thing is another level.

Mods, yo. There's already one for increasing the FOV past what you can do in GTA V, although only for first person view...

 

I'd say it's fairly likely that a bit down the line there'll be a pretty good VR experience for V, the current one is obviously severely lacking.
