GTA V PC - Crash after Crash :(

Question

daantjp10

Hello , I have GTA V PC from the first day (The 7Disk version). But from the first time I have issues.

First you need to do that Device manager NVIDIA trick - No problem

But when I am playing after like sometimes 30minutes sometimes 5minutes my game freezes and stops working (see screenshot) and I can't do anything other to stop the process.
My graphics are already at the lowest and FPS is not that bad?
It stutters sometimes little stutters but when the big stutter comes, game freezes like what I just said before.

Have already vsync disabled in game and in NVIDIA INSPECTOR it : FORCE ON
(If i turn it on in GTA V PC I crash almost immediately)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My MSINFO32 and DXDIAG files are here: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/communities/public/questions/203559247-GTA-V-PC-Not-responding-

--------------------------------

Have already tried running as admin
Already tried process priority of GTA launcher as low and GTAV.exe high
Already tried with installing low patch mod by RAGNOS
-->

---------------------------------

Can just please someone help me to fix this thing? I see almost no solution ;(

I have a DELL XPS L502X (using also coolingpad)
- 4GB RAM
- i5-2520M all 2.50GHZ
-NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 540M

I've already tried the underclock trick with MSI AFTERBURN this helps to most games but not GTA V PC :(

Please, I will be very pleased :p

Approach Rockstar support. Report all these problems to their support. They won't reply, but they'll closely monitor and fix these on their oncoming patches.

Dude your pc is way under the minimum specs, you simply cant play the game. Maybe at low with 10fps but you shouldnt even be able to run it. Laptops are not made for gaming especially yours.

Please don't talk sh*t. Lots of users with Intel Graphics are running the game just fine without any crashes.

OP, I suggest you to reinstall the game. Maybe some files were broken during installation and whenever the game tries to access it, it simply crashes.

I won't judge your systems ability to run the game, however it has been reported that people using Nvidia graphics have had issues with lag and stuttering even with the latest video driver--

It may help to uninstall the video driver and do a clean install of the latest Nvidia driver and see if that helps...

Several things you could try which helped me:

- Change the size of the pages file for your hard drives manually to the recommended size for your system.

- In game change the directX to 10.1 or even 10. You will hardly see the difference but things should run smoother.

Good luck and have fun!

Reinstalling the driver, changing the paging file size to system recommend. All doesn't help ;( , I just wanna play , I don't care how much it lags but no crashes plz. But I saw now I can play the game without the device manager trick

The only solution right now is lowering clock speeds until NVIDIA gives us a new driver.

There is a long shot method that fixed a bug that was preventing me from OCing that you could try.

It is a manual removal guide for NVIDIA drivers and it leaves nothing out: http://www.overclock.net/t/1150443/how-to-remove-your-nvidia-gpu-drivers

I reckon you

1. Should reinstall the game which would fix any broken files.

2.Update your nvidia drivers (gt 540m in your case).

3. Change your direct x to 10 (in game).

4. Considering your specs you should get all the settings to lowest (Ultra low) and also your resolution (maybe 800*600?).

This will help you get more fps (around 25-30 which makes it really playable) and might also help you to get rid of stuttering and crashes.

Enjoy! Its really the best sandbox game ever!

Maybe because Trevor's area is not very well optimized as the Los Santos?
