Phillyboy
I'm a real pilot but this GTA stuff isnt easy at all the controls are too sensitive and just not right. is it possible to mod to enable a joystick
DeathBySybian
Try flying with the game pad, lol. Rudder toggle on front bumper buttons. Power on trigger finger Cyclic on left joystick. As someone who flies RC aircraft that's zero conformity to industry standard. Also, the flight controls are governed. Helicopters can not fly down without letting go of power! Agathodaemon
I'm using a keyboard+mouse for shooting and X360 pad for everything else. Flying planes and helicopters (especially those) is really difficult on a keyboard. DentureDynamite
SlaveZer0
just buy a wired x360 controller or use and xbone controller but you need to install drivers provided by microsoft

R*'s draconian, domino-effect keybinding system makes it a royal pain in the butt to configure to your own tastes. Change one key and break two more, and you can't leave the screen without "fixing" it back to what R* wants. No other PC game I've used has a keybinding system that sad. Fail. YESYESYES
Is it possible to connect a Dualshock 4 controller? If so how?
Gameassassin1020
Is it possible to connect a Dualshock 4 controller? If so how? You need to buy an adapter, then download a program. Its a tassk but can be done. I'd just buy a gamepad with a PS layout. Logitech has some cheap 20 dollar ones. YESYESYES
AZAZEL
just buy a wired x360 controller or use and xbone controller but you need to install drivers provided by microsoft You don't need any particular drivers for the wired 360 controller. I plugged mine in while playing, and it just worked straight off the bat - automatically switched to gamepad mode when I started using it, and back to keyboard & mouse the moment you move the mouse or start using the keyboard. Really nice having the controller for flying, and driving sometimes.

What's wrong with the keybinding system? Just bind it to some useless key like "j" if it's some action you will never use. BTW, the way I have it set up for aircraft is WASD is to wobble/lean it in all directions I have a razer deathadder mouse so: mouse 1 = steer left mouse 2 = steer right mouse 4 = throttle/lift mouse 5 = break/descend It works as good as xbox 360 imo. It's a bit confusing at first but you'll get used to it Big Gta fan
TripleBullet187
Yeah I really wish I could use the mouse but I feel like they did it on purpose so it is not as easy. Takes getting used to if you stick with the keyboard. A game pad would help a ton. Also curious as to how much increasing your flight skill factors into the ease of flight. If I remember it affects the turbulence of the aircraft during storms and high altitude flight. Might affect other things. Kozak
So you can't use mouse flying? I haven't tried the controls yet. That was available in other GTA games. Edited April 15, 2015 by Kozak

Kozak
Flying is really easy with only KB. WASD + numpad 8 and 5. Nice signature. Yeah, flying is easy, yet I find it difficult to aim when playing Lazers against other players since their movements are unpredictable.

Once I got in game with it in GTA, it was automatically detected as a 360 Controller. You'll just have to get used to the 360 Buttons, but you'll still be able to use the PS4 controller perfectly fine as long as its wired in. I'll also mention that I have Windows 8.1, so that may be why it got detected easily. Not sure.
Royal22
The controls arent so bad tho, i completed the flight school with most gold and a few silver.. by using WASD and the numpad keys.. but flying with a PS4 controller feels better.. when you do the helicopter course you get pain in your fingers after a while.. so i prefer to fly with a controller like the PS4 or Xbox. (whatever you prefer).
