Keeps putting me in empty free roams or Timed out loading session?

Anybody else getting this? Every time I join a free roam I am the only person, I have to try like 3 or 4 times before I see a few people. I can never find one with a decent amount of people. And alot of times when I try to join a free roam it says Timed out locating session.

I looked up about it and all I could find was connection causes from rockstar, but my connection is perfect. I play a ton of games on pc and never have any issues, no firewalls, no router nonsense, everything seems perfectly fine with my connection.

Whats the deal?

And many times it says all the players left the free roam like I was just in one finally after 10 tries with 29 people and they all left at one time. Whenever I finally find a full one this happens.
Is it me or is it just gta online and u guys are getting this too?

I had problems as you, but after I open a few ports in my router everything is good.

But I already knew that, my router is strict purposely.

I can now join all sessions, even with friends and so on.

But I already knew that, my router is strict purposely.

Or you could have just said which ports you opened so he can try it too, instead of giving link to 99 different answers.

hmm i disabled firewall and opened every single port from the rockstar guides but..

every person in the whole free roam keeps disconnecting after ive been in it for like 5 or 10 minutes

like the game will freeze for a few sec then everybody leaves

and its pretty hard to find full ones

nobody else is experiencing this? i verified all necessary ports were open with a program and everything

Very common issue. Happens on the consoles all the time too. Just deal with it.

fastest way is to directly connect your ethernet cable to your PC and play, slowest way is to open ports on your router and hope it works.

I seem to have fixed it with port forwarding the ports: UDP 6672 - 6672

UDP 61455 - 61455

TCP 80 - 80

TCP 443 - 443

UDP 61457 - 61457

Experiencing the same issue. Haven't found a fix so far. Tried every possible 'fix' I could find on the internet but no luck.

I have a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. Tried using a wired connection and wireless. Neither worked. My Wi-Fi connection is fast enough and I can play other games without any issues.
