I still find it weird that people play games on PC's. Aren't PC's for, like, email and Facebook and stuff?

 

at first computers were built for stuff like that but as technology advance, stuff get smaller so theres no need to have a pc for emails and stuff like that when you can do that in a cellphone.

thats why pc makers are making computers more powerful to catter to the gamers, that are like their only thing keeping them from going out of business!

 

What? You must be very young. PC's were playing games while the Xbox and Playstations were just a glimmer in their Daddys eye. Almost everything consoles have started on PC, gaming itself started on PC, multiplayer gaming, online chat, christ even controllers were started on a PC, oh and GTA, Far Cry, Call of Duty and any other series that's been around a while started on PC! If anything consoles are becoming more and more like a dumbed down PC.

 

Also anyone thinking this is a PC problem never played RDR online.

i never said gaming started in consoles.

 

i said pc companies are making better equipment to cater to gamers, since pretty much all the other needs can be achieved on your average cellphone.

 

just for the record ihave been a gamer since i was 5, started playing on pc back in 1997, got my first online experience back in '98, built my first machine around 2001, my last built was around 2012.

Everyone knows they are more powerful, look better, have a wider variety of games to play, etc. Thats not the issue. Its all about ease of use and instant satisfaction. This is 2015. People dont wanna mess about. My good friend is a pc only gamer. He is constantly fixing, upgrading, etc. Always tweaking his machine. The average gamer doesnt want to deal with that its very simple. Yah we can get free old school games on pc but its a hassle. Id rather pay 10$ then fvck around around on the pc for hours getting somr plugin or old gamr to work properly.

PC has been this simple ever since this little thing called Steam was invented. Even the driver stuff hassles of the past have been removed with stuff like Nvidia experience and equivalents.

PC gamers have a strange obsession with people who play on consoles. I think it's due to the fact that in popular culture console gaming has overtaken PC gaming as the norm medium for gaming in the home. Go ask on a general forum a console gaming question and you'll soon be inundated with 'PC Master Race' and 'Peasant' shouts. Ask a PC question and you'll get nothing from console users. It's definitely a one-way obsession.

 

I used to game on PCs when I was younger but I switched to to consoles about 6 years ago. I like buying a game and knowing that I'm not going to spend the next 4 hours dealing with a missing dll issue. I don't have time for that any more. I want to get back from work, sit on my sofa, press a switch and be gaming on a 50" TV almost immediately.

 

I also like to know that my current setup is going to be the setup that developers will be focussing on for the whole generation. I'm not going to be left behind, not getting the full intended experience unless I spend another $1000 upgrading.

 

Gaming is all about enjoyment. It's not about 60 fps, draw distances, anti-aliasing or anything else. Use whatever system you enjoy most and leave it at that.

Its only been out for 1 day and that guy already owns everything due to modded money he gave himself.

 

Oh look, everyone in this freeroam lobby is modding. No wonder about the "its so peaceful on PC" thread. Everyone's on godmode, so everyone is equal. Deathmatches and/or freemode kill attempts are redundant.

 

Not to mention that default PC gaming is a mouse and keyboard. If you're going to buy a gamepad or controller for it, then why dont you just buy a NG console? It's exactly the same thing except for the fact that all players on PC, ages 1-100 are or can be modders.

I have a laptop to play emulation and PC games when I wanna, but I also like to play console games since, like people have said, it's easy to jump into.

The Billionaire Days were on consoles. It was so bad that R* had to speak out about the whole issue. Don't think consoles are pure, as they have, and will have, mods as well. Sure, it's more trouble than PC, but it's still there.

I will address this reply seriously: Your console is hooked up to your Television. For everybody that doesn't own a Chromecast or whatever, it's the superior way to watch things especially Netflix.

Only the top of the line PC are expensive and always will be. But, a pc better then PS4 or Xbone is about $400. Which is actually cheaper in the long run. Its not like i have to pay for xbox live on pc.

Nice use of semantics, fine sir. I shall golf clap applaud you. Everyone knows that when ppl try to explain or give statements, they provide the most important reason or main point at the beginning of the statement. So to recap to you since you didnt understand the original post by myself:

 

Main point = On PC, everybody mods because:

1. Everybody has easier access to them, than compared to on consoles.

2. More mods available on PC.

This makes legit playing harder when everyone is cheating/exploiting. It also takes away the fun rather than add it (when it comes to being cash-related).

 

Least important point but worth mentioning:

"Not to mention" the gamepad/controller issue as default is keyboard and mouse which is inconvenient.

 

I stick by my original statement, man. Just try not to take this reply out of context too.

I never understood the pc vs console thing. Of course pc will almost alwAys perform beter with frame rate and resolution. But think about it, an xb1 is 350 bucks. Of course it's not gonna compete with a 2500 dollar pc. He'll, most cell phones todaY cost 6 or 7 hundred (not counting contract subsidy)

 

To me the allure of consoles comes from ease of use and a level playing field. You never have to worry about your pc having problems playing the game, and you don't have to worry about someone with a better PC than you having a draw distance advantage.

I play on consoles and PC- I also play Dead Space and The Sims 3 on my laptop (the laptop I use is not suitable for gaming).

PC is superior when it comes to graphics and sh*t like that.

Console gaming also has it's advantages- it's fast and easy to play on.
